Paul---looking for a Speedster is a very worthy project!

One thought. Vintage Speedsters makes more cars than all the others put together---over 3,000 so far and still counting.

Most of their production is shipped overseas. You could go to the Vintage site---just click on "Makers" at the top of this page and send the owner, Kirk Duncan an email to see what he says about shipping one down under.

We were in Aus last July---stayed near Darling harbor. Loved it all---especuially the Aussie brew.

Good luck.
hi Paul, l'm up here in Brisbane, have been building my speedster now for a few years, brought the kit in South Africa, l dont thing there are any... getting a speedster registered is a real nightmare to, had to do mine as a VW and then do the conversion....where are you located Bill
Hi Paul,
I'm the guy from WA that posts here occasionally.
The only manufacturer I'm aware of in Australia was/is RC Speedsters who produced a fairly expensive modernised update with Subaru mechanicals. Not sure if they're still around though.
I have a very well made, Belgium replica, an Apal Speedster, which is currently undergoing conversion to RHD in Perth WA.
When it's finished, I may consider selling as I may have the opportunity to repurchase my old 1961 356 B coupe that I sold interstate a couple of years ago. I should know by early Feb 2012.
If I do sell the car will be advertised in the low $30ks.

Regards,
Phillip B

I am in Brisbane and have a RHD Vintage Speedster with a 1600 Super motor fitted. It was engineered in Queensland and then registered in 2000 with a VW motor and the Porsche engine fitted later. It has covered 9000kms since being built to a very high standard.
