I bought my car with it already mounted but the setup is crap. After going to see Kevins car he is going to do some welding on my transmission and also he makes the best front mount setup I have seen so far. Looks really clean. Here are some pics of the before and what Kevin has on his VW bug.

Best part about it is the front transmission mount does not need to be welded like all the other options I have seen.
Don't know if you've seen this but it might have some tips you can use........http://www.aircooled.net/vw-transmission-porsche-5-speed-conversion/
Ya I have seen that one. My transmission has a round bell housing without the area for the motor mount bolts. Man if you have a transmission housing like the one in the article all you would need is the bar Kevin sells and you would have a bolt in solution for a Porsche transmission.
Forgive my ignorance, but when you mention Kevin do you mean that fellow who is involved with the very nigh end suspension pieces for VW's. Kevin Zagar, I think it was?
Ya Kevin over at Mendeola. I was really impressed with the setups they have over there. If you are looking at putting a 915 or 901 box in your car as easy as possible this is it.
Yeah, it looks beautiful. He welds the bellhousing pads onto trans that has none?
I'd imagine that the 'crossmember' front mount needs to be made up for whichever frame a car has - I mean that the tubes IM builds won't have the same dimensions as one from Beck, and neither is like a VW. So this is custom work by Kevin's shop, made to order with the car on site?

Very true. If you have a VW pan I guess its really easy but you are right because I am not sure about how the Vintage, Beck or IM rears look. Maybe Kevin can chime in here about that because he has a Vintage.
I just got back the transmission from Kevin I will take some pics and I should have it in this weekend.
Looking good MAtt
