Ok folks, I’m considering the unthinkable. Yes, I am thinking about selling the Speedster.  Before I get into why it’s such a great car, I’ll explain my reasoning.  First, we have had several unexpected expenses in the last couple of years (home repair and medical), and I would rather free up some discretionary money than liquidate retirement investments.  Second, I’d like something that Pam felt more comfortable in so we could enjoy it together.  Finally, I have had the itch for something different for a bit (hey, I’ve had it six years), and would love to scratch that itch, this time probably with a hard top.  Don’t worry, you won’t see any less of me if I sell.

Ok, here’s the ad:

2006 Beck Speedster built at Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals in May 2006 from a Beck Deluxe Pre-assembled Body Kit (DPBK) by a team of Speedster lovers like myself.  This car went from three pallets to a driveable car in two days.  Since then I have logged over 33,000 miles including six return trips to Carlisle and five trips to the Smoky Mountains.  The car has the following features:

  • Folding scissors-frame top
  • Front disk brakes
  • Height-adjustable front beam
  • Height-adjustable rear spring plates

  • Chrome grab handle on dash
  • Ruetter badge on fender

Owner-installed upgrades:

  • A1 Sidewinder merged header exhaust system with Magnaflow muffler

I never thought I'd see the day---say you are kidding!

The o-n-l-y thing that would make me consider selling my Speedster is an IM with a big Subaru engine from Jake.  Or a coupe---same engine. Actually I don't ever see me selling my car though.

Maybe Pam would like  a coupe better, Lane?

See you in tghe Smokies soon!

Yelrac - I see your posts occasionally on MG Experience.  that's one of the places stoking my itch.

I just remembered several other items I've forgotten:

  • Protective clear film along tops of doors - protects against abrasion by side windows
  • Protective clear film under ignition to protect against scratches from keys
  • Custom-made vinyl front cover for long trips - made by Wardlow Custom Masks

I'm sure I'll think of some more.
