@MikelB- As I said, Mike, 6 ¾ lbs off of the front of your car by just switching calipers is huge! You'd be re-working at least 25-30 lbs of parts to achieve that kind of weight reduction, and the hours it would take- you'd be there for a (long) while. I can see making a stock caliper 8 ounces (maybe a little more) lighter, but again, you'd be at if for a while, and even going as extreme as you dared, I don't think you'd come close to taking any where near a pound off each caliper (interesting project- anybody have a junk caliper they want to volunteer for a little 'research'?). That's the beauty of something made in aluminum- it's just under 40% the weight of the comparable piece of steel or cast iron.
Hey- do those calipers have dust shields? I have some neat aluminum hub/bolt on rotor assemblies (they're specific castings and put the CB Perf. pieces to shame, which are made from solid billet with not much whittling for weight removal) but I can't get the computer to sync with my phone and can't figure out how to sign in here on the phone so I can't post pics. You'll just have to wait in anticipation until I can figure it out. Anyway, I think they might be almost as light as drum brakes (Karman Ghia discs are a fair bit heavier than Type 1 front brake assemblies). Paired with the Wilwood calipers, they'd be quite the package...
