Max, do I understand the only thing between you and bringing your Speedster to the Pumpkin Run is a couple fittings?
Really?
Really?
Former Member
Cory, yes, just a couple of fittings and a good tune. Max, sorry been out to lunch. You know, you don't look too bad for all those b-days! Why does Toni hang out with such an ole dirty ba$tard, we can only guess!
She does seem to smile alot though....I'm just sayin'
Fittings? News to me. Good tune? Pick one and I'll get Toni to sing it. Far as Toni goes, Danny, the reason she sticks around is cuz my maiden name is Rockefeller. The more birthdays I get run through, the more she smiles.
Got back from the Pumpkin Run tonight. Had a great time. The Merklins weren't home but their neighbor Doug opened the door for us. Played Alan's drums for a while and dispatched the crap out of next week for him while we waited for everyone to show up. Then we went out and did the run. Beautiful. Didn't see a single Speedster. Next weekend woulda been more colorful but it still was nice. Where was everybody?

Justin, welcome to the madness! Your project don't look all that too difficult. Will you have a right seater coming too ?
All....Max was in a self induced time warp and was only one week a head of the Pumpkin Run schedule ~

Justin, it's a short trip up to Alan's place, and a fun time. Please consider joining us. This crowd is funny -- especially Max -- and worth the trip every time.
Max, mannnn, don't you have an SOC callendar?
Alan, I put a call in to Warren Miles to ask if he is interested in coming to the event. If he is, it'll be a great chance for me to thank him for the parts and advice over the years; if not, I may be headed over to Perry County to see an old Navy pal. He lives in Camp Hill, or thereabouts.
That's not too far of a drive, looks like, so I might crash there either Friday or Saturday night and hang out with him and his missus and catch up a little.

Cory,
Justin is the newbie I was talking in my post above - he will need a right seat w/ someone - yours still open? He is taking his car apart right now - hopefully we will have three new cars at Carlisle this next year ( Greg, myself and Justin ).
We will be picking him up on our way to the Pumpkin run.

Don't know yet. Warren travels a lot, and might not check messages as often as I do.
If he doesn't come for the event, the seat will be available during the cruise. If I end up going to Camp Hill either Friday or Saturday, he'll need to find a way to and from.
I'll know more in a day or two.

No worries if no right seat is available. Worst case scenario I will follow along in the acura.

Justin, I spoke to Warren. He's not going to be coming, but I will be staying over one extra night in PA -- bring the Acura, but leave it at Alan's place for the run. You can ride with me. It'll be a good run for you.

Max - Linda and I must have just missed you! House was empty when we got there, found the door open, knocked, no one answered, so we walked right in. After the long trip, we were thirsty and hungry. In the fridge, there was a case of Smirnoff Ice. Linda, tasting the Raspberry Smirnoff Ice said "This Ice is too sweet!". So, she tasted the Lime Ice. "This is too sour," she said. Then she found a really big bottle of White Zin hidden behind the V8 Juice. "Ahhh, this wine is just right," she said happily and she drank it all up. Continuing making ourselves to home, and we eventually finished the case of Smirnoff Ice, and White Zin. Linda decided she was feeling a little tired. Going into the living room she saw three chairs, sat in the first chair to rest her feet. "This chair is too big!" she exclaimed. Sat in the second chair. "This chair is too big, too!" she whined. So she tried the last and smallest chair. Ahhh, this chair is just right," she sighed. Must be Alan

Yeah, I notice that you're hiking your hemline just a bit....
Looking for a little action??
Looking for a little action??
...not that there's anything wrong with that...
LoL! Bruce, you'd better keep an eye on Norma's golf clubs. She might clock you one after she gets a look at "Stacey." LMAO.
I'll bet Norma has never been "free" . . .
Update:
We now have eighteen people doing the Pumpkin Run in various cars with a rumor that Bruce and Norma Stumpp will also be here!
Saturday looks to perfect cruising weather too (sunny and a high of 69 degrees) just what the "dr" ordered...
I just got in from doing a final route check list, just don't tell Kim I was a tad hard on her Miata:)
All Pumpkin Run information is in above posts.
Have a safe Saturday AM trip out to Chambersburg, please arrive between 9:30 and 10:30 AM.

For ed, Cory, and any other DC-ites or others in the vicinity: I have checked on the route from Joppa to Chambersburg, and I figure we can meet up near Westminster, then that would be pretty easy. Just need to figure where, exactly, and when. I'm gonna say at Rtes 140 and 97. That should work, so pls advise. Around 9:00-ish?? even if we do not meet anyone, I think I will go this way vs. I70 and 81. The less interstate, the better.
FYI:
Gettysburg to here is a good hour plus, though it doesn't look all that long on a map.
Rt.70 to Rt.81 is the quickest time for me when coming back from the Elkton, MD area with little traffic on a Saturday AM. ~Alan

Kelly: Just past the intersection of Rt 140/97 and Englar Rd. in Westminster is a shopping center. There's a Buffalo Wild Wings in there and I think an Office Depot in front.
Whatever that big building is, there's parking there that I think is visible from the road. Looks like the spot is easy to see coming at 50-60 mph; you cross Engler and take the next right into that lot. Maybe we should meet there. [Turns out I'm heading out to McDaniel College on Thursday so I can eyeball this then and make sure].
And I think Alan is suggesting we do so a bit before 9 a.m., though doing that may be putting me and Karen on the road before 7:30.
Hoping for good weather.

Kelly -- Toni misquoted me. I never said "free." I said "available" or "up for grabs" or "back in play" or "on eHarmony" again. I'd never say "free" about Norma, man. That's just crass.
You guys better show up this time. Last weekend was a bummer. Rocky didn't leave us one Smirnoff Ice. Just a Trojan wrapper.

Sorry, I won't be able to make it this year. I'll be meeting my brother at Barber Motorsports Park (Birmingham, Ala.)for the Vintage Motorcycle weekend. Great venue, great motorcycle museum, and some excellent vintage motorcycle racing.

ed: 'tis a plan. Will wait to hear from Cory and his intentions. Something about running up Fri eve?? He is a hard (fire)man to pin down, sometimes. At the place you describe, 8:30 - 8:45 Sat AM gonna work??

Kelly, it's terrible to be the last-minute guy. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here's what's on my radar; my shifter bushing is hinkey in second. I had the car out today, and as long as I don't make a sloppy shift, she's good.
I spoke to Alan, and he says it's a 20-minute fix. I will attempt said fix Friday at Ft. Meade. You're welcome to join me.
I took some overtime and a swap tomorrow (Thursday) at work. I am off all weekend, starting Friday morning. I'm going to go to Peek first thing to get the parts, then I'll head to Meade after noon.
I will meet up with you Saturday morning, head to Westminster and on to Chambersburg on Saturday for the Pumpkin Run.
Then I'm off to Camp Hill, Pa., when we all head our separate ways. I will be eating caribou and bear Saturday night, and drinking of the great Sarnac Pumpkin Ale with a couple retired master chiefs.
Hoo-yah!
I will drive home the long way on Sunday.

Any objection to a slow 2 mile cruise up " Tower Rd " a smooth hard packed gravel road for a fantastic 50 mile plus view ? ~Alan
Kelly. Yeah. Switching to channel 13 (email, that is) for details.
Cory: good luck. Took me all weekend on mine. But I am a noob (or was, anyway) & my car had problems.
Dr.: Oh yeah. Bridget goes anywhere, does anything. Like a Hummer, only smaller.

Not sure if this GoogleMap link will work, but I will shoot to be in the vicinity of Englar Rd and MD 140, Westminster, around 8:30, having met Cory at the Clarksville FD (MD 108 and 32) shortly before 8:00 and then shoved off from there at 0800 sharp. From Westminster area we will then run up 140, and I guess 30, through Gettysburg and on into/through Chambersburg, and so to Alan's. What's the turn off to Merklin The Magician's place? Hades??

Anybody else in the listening area is welcome to join in.
I'm OK w/ a little bit o' gravel road (go slow and have lots of distance beween) as part of the adventure.

Kelly,
I think part of the link is missing.

?? Well, I tried. Just type in to GoogleMaps Englar Rd, Westminster, MD and you will get there.
I just went past it a couple hours ago. Cross Englar Rd. & there's a Denny's on the right (It's Denny's "Diner" now?). And an Office Depot. Pull right in there. I'm thinking the Office Depot side of the lot will be less busy. We can meet up and pull out and take the next right exit towards Gettysburg. Or get coffees while we're there. 8:30-ish meetup, 8:45-ish pull out should get us to Clock's on schedule.
Kelly
