I agree, thanks SAW.

On a sidenote, I surfed across a picture of a french Speedster that has many panel mods. Their show car has a series of oval inlets under the nose.. across the width of the car. I thought about the SAW car when I saw it, and believe it may be just the ticket for cooling. In fact I believe the french car is water cooled(?).

I clipped a pic if anyone would like to see this show car... it's highly modified over their normal ones.

3 pics posted under my dub u tub files, then subfolder Pgo. That's the company's name. These pics appear to be of a custom Speedster II, they also make a classic. The engine is a tranverse mounted 4 with 135 plus HP stock.

Here's their web site. www.pgo.fr/

the pics I saw of the series of oval front vents was in a zine article. I am looking for it now. I know the 356 Registry had an article on these & that's probably where I saw the pics I mentioned earlier.

Bruce,

I have no idea what the holes are for...unless they are associated with the "master de-linter". ( OK, I promise never to mention the de-linter again). Seriously, I am curious. I wonder if George has them? He has a frontal shot in his files, but it is cut off just above the area where the holes would be located. George?

If you are speaking about round holes on the body, below the bumper, Henry places the airconditioner condenser behind the holes. If it is something else, no clue. After looking at the pictures of Brian's car, (love the color Brian) the holes are for the IM airconditioner condensor.

Yes, I ordered A/C. My area gets pretty steamy in the summer. I usually drive with the top down, so I am hoping the cold blast of air will be similar to what I experienced with my 996. If it doesn't work out, or it becomes the maintenance nightmare everyone predicts, then I'll have some parts for sale! Henry says quite a few new IM's are equipped this way, so at least I am not alone (misery loves company).
I live in Atlanta and have a 1998 IM with a 1600 engine and A/C. Thusfar I have not experienced any problems with the A/C. I do drive it with the top down and the A/C on. With the top up, it will freeze you out if not kept on low. Occasionally, when there is a load on the engine, I reach up and switch off the compressor for a moment. From a looks perspective, Henry has done a good job of integrating the air into the original dash. I believe you made the correct decision.
