Gerd - you won't regret the decision to join the Speedster caravan to Paso.

Warren - so will you be driving the Speedster and Karen following in the RV? BTW - the Topanga Ranch Motel is a group of old abandoned buildings that front PCH in Malibu, I don't think there is a back lot to park the RV.

Here are a couple of pics, from Vince's file, of the group meeting at that motel lot last year.

Vince et al Yes, I plan to join-up with ya'll for the Paso week-end this week-end. The Topanga Ranch Motel (cottages) are not abandoned, they just look that way. For those with inquiring minds you might find the place fascinating. It's a favorite lodging spot with surfers who ride the break at Topanga Beach.

See you there.
Bill - My bad on the 'abandoned' thing about Topanga Ranch Motel. That was a really interesting link about the area history and the Manson 'family' hangout. I'm fascinated by old aerial pics of landmarks and their history.

I was 4-wheeling through the Mojave desert (just south of Death Valley) and came across the ranch house where the Manson group spent a lot of time (I'm not sure if it was the Spahn Ranch or something like that). Walking through that old deserted building in the middle of the desert gave me the heebie-jeebies. I couldn't put enough distance between myself and that deserted ranch-house fast enough!

Anyway, we're really looking forward to a great time hanging out with the SOC group at the Paso event - glad you'll be joining us!

Peace - Out!

Thanks Jim, we're looking forward to moving up there. I will get a lot more driving time than here in the desert. I am keeping the car until at least after Paso. I don't want to miss that one. And, I am looking forward to seeing and hearing your new exhaust.

And to Esther and Angela, those guys in Vince's male car wash scene have to be actors. I know it's been a long time since I was in the shower in gym class or the service, but none of us looked like that. Here's a vision that will pop that bubble. Imagine Vince, Jim, Curt and me (I'm 62) doing that scene. See, there, now you don't have to take a cold shower.
