OK-- Not participating in 2011 while keeping snug and dry in our SLO home gives me pangs of regret. May I suggest that another activity for Saturday is the Pismo Beach version of Huntington Beach's Donut Derelicts. Every Saturday, the Pismo Derelicts meets at the Ross shopping center at Oak Park and James Way (just off 101) from about 7:30 until about 9 am. Of course, there is a donut shop, and anyone with anything can and does show up whenever they get there. There is no membership and no expectation. Bring what you run, even your 1962 Ford Focus or your '65 Corvair.
Donuts and Derelicts before Arroyo Grande. They are all close together. Imagine what the army of speedsters could do to this event!

We haven't talked Raffle yet, and I have all these tickets left over from last year, so start thinking about things you may want to bring as a "donation to the cause"....
Hey Alan
7:30 a.m.? Are you kidding? This group doesn't even roll out of the sack until at least 9:00 a.m. Now, having said that, some might want to go. If you come, I will meet you there.
Hope you can make it this year. It can't rain two years in a row on our event, can it?
Hey Vince
How about some old 914 parts for the raffle. LOL Seriously, I think I may have some VW & Speedie parts laying around. Don't know if they are good raffle items, but I could have them available to see on Friday night. The cost would be, if you want it, take it. If there is some interest, I will put together a list. I would have to check with Thomas M first, as they just didn't make the ship to Hawaii.

I'm with you Alan on starting off Saturday morning in June at Pismo Derelicts. "Crusty" owner Dave from Selma mentioned it to me a few weeks ago and I emailed the suggestion to Jenn.
It looks like there would be plenty of room and we would absolutely blow them away and probably get some new recruits and friends if we showed up in mass. http://www.pismoderelicts.com/

Warren, I'm not sure how your 914 parts will go over in the raffle if you are serious, but with this crowd who know's...
I'm in for the Saturday morning cruise...

To heck with "good" raffle prizes...
I'm thinking about bringing BAD ones. Really, really bad ones, the kind Vince likes. ;-P

Made my hotel reservation in Jan, happened to be crusing through Pismo on my way to Portland.
Erzatz Motors raffle selection commitee has no recommendations yet, although Vince's suggestions are stellar.
Chrissy will not be attending Pismo this year, Carnegie Hall and Graduation seem to have her attention.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, Stay safe.

Warren: I look forward to meeting you either at the weekend events or the Pismo Derelicts or both.
Troy: There could be an awesome (not overused in this case) overwhelming SOC presence. It's worth the price of admission: free.

Gerd: Come on. You will be in the Central Coast and there will be 50s era hot rods, muscle cars, Ferraris, and at least one Ford RT (with a certificate of a top speed of 238 mph). Even better, you will find a replica Lotus Super Seven, and a WWII era four by. How better to start your Saturday?
What the **** is a Ford RT? It is a 2005 Ford GT.
Vince - Read my post again. The 914 parts were a joke. I do have some VW parts and Speedy parts, that if Thomas, who bought the Beck, doesn't want I will give them away or toss them.
Gerd - You better get that bad assed coupe up at 7:00 or we'll steal it.

Roger, I ask you, does it really matter????
Wow, looks like it's going to be an awesome weekend! (again, not over use of the word - this group and this weekend definitely live up to "awesome").
Glad to hear lots of you have booked your rooms already.
So far, I've received lunch and dinner payment from Roy McIntire and Jim & Kathy Carr. If you want to eat with the group on Saturday be sure to mail me a check before May 23rd. (Scroll up for the details about Lunch, Dinner, and payments).
Sorry to be so short, but finishing up my last paper for the quarter and then packing my bags for Argentina! Catch up with you guys at the end of the month when we get back!

JEN UNFORTUNATELY CARROL AND I WONT MAKE THIS YEARS TRIP
Jennifer emailed me and said that she is all for meeting at Pismo Derelicts on Saturday morning. http://www.pismoderelicts.com/
That's great Troy. Roger and I went to Pismo's version of Coffee and Donuts before the picture was taken last year (and that was in the rain). I'm all for a group of us going there prior to the picture this year. It's great, it's free, there are a lot of cool cars, we can leave at anytime and it's in Pismo, what
Jen, do to health reasons I will not be able to arrange a wine tour/drive. Dale
I live in Morro Bay. Will the club be trecking through my town. I would love to join the caravan. Good wineries along the central coast. Harmony Cellars, Moonstone cellars just being a few. Nice and cool during June where as in Paso it can be hotter then hell during June. Keep me posted.
Thanks
Russ
