If anyone is going to cancel a room at the Spyglass for this event weekend can you drop me a note, if it is not pouring rain that is. I waited too long I think to book a room. I can call right after you cancel and maybe pick it up.

EDIT: I am an idiot. The travel sites are sold out but the hotel website has rooms listed. I'll be booking soon I think. Might have to get a room with "2 queens" in case my wife has to stay home and one om my buddies has to tag along. :>)
OK, back to the original thread topic....
Jen can start a new thread with all the perticulars of the event, but for now, since no one has stepped up to the plate, I suggest we do the same as last year for the raffle...which means, some of us bring an item for the raffle (something worth spending a few bucks to try & win) the money collected will then be raffled off at the end when all raffle prizes have been taken. depending on the amount collected, we can either have one money prize or split it in halh and have two money prizes..the prizes do not need to be car related, but as I said, something that you would like to win....
the more money spent on the tickets, means more money to win in the end...
I thought the money collected last year was actually over the top & I want to thank all who contributed....
I am having some T-Shirts & a couple of Ball Caps (Caps are a drawing of Speedster on front with the word Speedster) made as a momento to our SOC West Coast Meet in Pismo that I am going to donate to our raffle (12+ T-Shirts and 2 Caps). I had some extra
T-Shirts made if anyone is interested in buying for $12.00
(see picture below, white with black lettering..Front and back are the same except front is pocket size & back is larger). I am also having a different format shirt in black with white lettering that I will post at the end of next week. It will read in the front:
SOC
Speedsters
(Drawing of Speedster)
West Coast Meet
Pismo Beach 2012

On the back will be a drawing of a Speedster, Coupe & Spyder
(with no lettering)
If you are interested, just shoot me an email( Effie)
Since the art work is already done for both styles, if you would like a different color T-Shirt (if I can) just let me know as long as it works with the lettering. This should be a good start for collecting for the raffle!!
Thanks, Jim

We had a volunteer to arrange a wine tour on Saturday, but due to health reasons he may not be able to make it, so here is a plan:

After the group photo, fun events and lunch we could leave the park at our leisure to the first checkpoint, pre-sumably a winery that has plenty of room to park. (I will check that out) This way it will be easier to exit the park and be on our way. On the way to the first checkpoint, a list of landmarks will be provided and each car will have to identfy a featured question for each landmark along the way. We don't have to all leave the park at once as you can start the list anytime. I expect this to take a little over an hour. The car that has the most correct answers will be the winner and a prize of some sort will be presented at dinner. At this point, when everyone arrives, those who want to go on a nice twisty drive in the back country can, those that want to go on to another winery or those that want to break off and do their own thing, can. IF SOMEONE WANTS TO PLAN THE WINE TOUR, PLEASE STEP UP. I will lead the twisty drive for those that want to drive (Angela, don't touch my plug wires) The twisty drive will not be too fast and we won't leave anyone behind.

If anyone has suggestions, they are welcome, not like in the past. Please send your suggestions to me via email or here, either way.

As for the Sunday drive, we can do what we planned last year. Jim I. has a southbound route and I have a northbound route or if someone else wants to do the northbound, that's no problem. If you would like a total group drive before that, again, step up and plan it.
