Yelp He 0nly offered me $150.oo Heck they listed $450.oo new and and even the pads still look unworned, And I kept paired off and on the rotors So they are as they came off the car. A very complete kit.
I feel anything under $300.oo is a Insult $150 is more like slap in the face. If the email had a door I would have slamed it

You may have a problem, Barry. CB Performance sells their new rear disk kits at around $250.
IMHO if a low offer was an insult then it seems advertizing as "BO over $300" would have been a better way to advertize - vice "Make me an offer". Or I paid $450 3 months ago and would like to get 75% back. Then again ebay is the place for offers.

They were put on the car new in 2004 and they were ordered from CB-P..
I have the receits Are you saying CB performace has two prices for the same parts. they are what they are take um or leave um I dont realy care. they will sell themselfs easy enough.
better recheck your listing the cheaper kit dos not have the E brake feature and is not a complete kit?

I agree that if you have a price already set in your head that you want for something, why not just say it. If you ask someone to make an offer, then you really shouldn't be offended when you get one. My general rule of thumb is usually 50% of new price for a used item.
Of course if I were in the market for a rear disc brake setup, there is always this kit which appears to be complete for $259. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=113186
Not trying to stir the pot any, just my 2 cents.

Barry, I was looking online a couple of days ago, and the CB site says something about new, reduced prices. I doubt that you'd be able to get more than a new set unless they're better in some way. Don't shoot the messenger.
Just rechecked the CB site. The prices range from $234.95 to $249.95 for 4-bolt and Porsche 5-bolt patterns. The wide-5 pattern kits cost $619.95. If that's what you have, your price seems reasonable.
When I saw that I immediately placed an order for one of the Porsche pattern kits at $235...good deal I thought.
Then they came back and quoted me shipping and handling of $205 which is what UPS charges to ship here. They won't ship USPS which would be about $50 so I cancelled. Guess I'll stay with the rear drums for a while longer....

Those dog-sled deliveries are expensive, aren't they?

brian,
if you really want CB stuff in canada - Concept1.ca in Alberta is a distributor. they tack on a hefty surcharge, but it's still cheaper than the whole UPS scam.

$352. at cip1.ca Canadian funds.Half price makes it $176.
CIP1.ca is the same...they will only ship UPS now and UPS charges a lot even from within Canada. Problem is UPS will only ship air express as there is no year round round into the city here. For about 6 weeks in the spring when the ice breaks up you have to fly everything in. The rest of the time its either by ferry or you drive over the ice.
Canada Post covers the additional cost during that 6 weeks as you can still get ground rates even though your parcel is going air for one section of the trip.
Time to move I guess. That plus its minus 40 today...without wind chill.
