Dan,
Last year some of us So. Cal. guys did a few runs, we had so much fun, and got along so well together we decided to repeat those runs again this year....The cruise to the Hotel Del was the first for this year and we are planning a wine run probably late June. basically no one else takes the inititive to plan anything so we do our thing and invite anyone who wishes to attend. They usually take all day, and then some...its not easy getting together for just a few hours but
By all means plan something, and see what kind of response you get..
If I am available, I will attend...
I prefer driving my car rather than sit around looking at it......
Dan,

I'm in for any type of run. All our cars are great and the reaction we get when there is alot of us crusin together is fantastic. Vince & Dave have a few runs comin up & if you or any others have any ideas that would be great. Of course give everyone enough time to check their calenders. Hotel Del was a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice meeting everyone.

Gabe
Dan,

George and I are up for a few runs..Sounds like great fun...
Even an afternoon drive follwed by dinner would be nice..
I know my hubby has never been to the Getty Museum. It's a nice short run, we could do lunch there..

Anyway, plan something and we'll be there..we just have to farm out the 4 kids.....so the more notice the better...

Everyone,
I will put something small scale together and post it to see if it works for anyone else.

Jim,
Its too bad there is so much geography between all of us, we'll miss you till next year. BTW, I'm trying to catch up to you, I've put 1,200 miles on my car since delivery for a total of 2200.

Thanks for everyone's response so far.

Dan
Vince & Dan

I'll call the Getty and see if we can get some group discounts and "perfered parking"......

Are any particular dates better than others? Let me know and I'll get the 411.

And...There are a couple options for wine runs...how about temecula during the balloon festival?

Dan, that shouldn't be too far of a run for you right?

Hey all, 22nd Annual Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival in temecula is June 3,4 &5, 2005 at Lake Skinner. Friday and Sat. evenings there is a ballon glow. Enjoy tasting from over 20 wineries, top names in concert, arts and crafts fair, kids faire, and other exhibits. For more information call the Balloon & Wine Festival Office at (951) 676-6713 or visit:www.tvbwf.com/
Okay, Karon and I have a prelim plan for a Temecula run on Saturday June 4th...If anyone is interested, we can nail down the details, but here is what we have so far;

{1} Meeting place: Irvine Spectrum (Parking lot in front of Dave&Busters restaurant)

{2} Depart Irvine Spectrum onto 5 Fwy (south) to San Juan Capistrano (5 fwy and Ortega Highway, arrive for fuel and join up with Speedsters from San Diego area.

{3} Depart San Juan Capistrano to Lake Elsinore via the Ortega Highway, stop for fuel at the 15 fwy.

{4} Depart Lake Elsinore to Temecula via 15 fwy

{5} Arrive at Temecula, final stop at Maurice Car'rie Winery for casual food and drink, socializing and possible small group wine tasting at the various wineries in the area.

This entire run is approximately 70 miles one-way from Irvine to Temecula with estimated drive time of about 2 hours (per mapquest) So we figure with fuel stops a good time frame would be about a 3 hour tour (heard that somewhere before...something to do with Gilligan I think...anyway)

So what do ya think???? If we meet 'round 9am we would arrive thirsty and hungry around noon.

As mentioned the balloon festival is that weekend as well, local lodging may be limited.

I've started a new thread reference this "preliminary" event :-)

Best wishes,
Karon & George Miller
