In the past 8 years the Meet has been held there have been a number of caravans driving to Carlisle from all directions. No problem driving solo but everyone knows the old saying "safety in numbers". Obviously I'll do my usual trip up from Charleston to Christiansburg on Wednesday. A bunch of us meet up there and spend the night before caravanning in on Thursday. Anyone coming up from the southeast on Wednesday can meet up with me or with the Crosby/Hallstrand contingent coming in through Tennessee. On Thursday we stop in Hagerstown, MD for lunch, where we meet up with most of the Baltimore/DC crowd for the final, triumphant trek to Carlisle.

My route is I-26 from Charleston to Columbia, SC; then I-77 on through Charlotte, Statesville, and the rest of NC; then I pick up I-81 near Wytheville, VA shortly before overnighting in Christiansburg, VA. On Thursday we take I-81 all the way to Carlisle.

Who's interested?
Yes, John--David and I will caravan from Hot Springs to Lenoir city.

David--get a reservation there for Tuesday, May 15.
Hampton Inn, 585 Ft Loudin Medical Center, Lenoir City, TN
865/988-2000. Rate:$113.

Also Wed Night in Christiansburg, Holiday Inn Express
Exit 118, Roanoke Street, Christiansburg, VA

We'll stop for lunch in Hagerstown, MD and hook up with 6-8 more guys and then caravan up I-81 oto Carlisle. (Cory--please try to keep up!)

Hoss-we'll look forward to our annual dinner with Yiou and Sarah at that great place next door to the Hampton Inn.

I don't want to wish my life away but I wish May would get here quickly!
Lane-=--Russ and I are heading over to D. C. (Arlington) to spend Sun night there then Russ heads to Wilson and I to Hot Springs via I-81 & I-40. But we will be there with you on the way up to Carlisle.

Hey Todd, Syl and Dale---why don't we caravan to DC from Carlisle--maybe leave late Sunday morning? Russ in his 911 and me in my Speedster.
It looks likely that I'll be caravanning to Carlisle from central Massachusetts, leaving from the Worcester area on Thursday - 5/17, with the following route:

I-90 West to I-84 SW through "Haht-ferd", CT, then on to Danbury, CT to connect with Carl Berry, then continuing on I-84 to Scranton, PA where we'll get on I-81 all the way to Mechanicsburg, PA.

As usual, we'll bring some decent New England micro-brew, either Wauchusett Brewery or Magic Hat.

We'll be leaving Carlisle early Sunday morning ("early" is usually defined as "around 10am or so....-ish") so that we're home in Grafton for dinner.

Unless the truck dies again and we need a tow:

Leon, you must have booked REALLY early, because when I called they were sold out for Wednesday night. It's prom night in Christiansburg. That's why were staying in the Holiday Inn which is just up the street from the Fairfield. We are staying at the Fairfield on the way back if the teeny boppers haven't destroyed it.
Al: We can meet up out near Farmington, just past the nutty Hartford traffic. How 'bout Dunkies at 348 Colt Highway, Farmington, CT 06032. Usually roll through there around 8:45-9am. More-or-less easy off, easy on and trailer pull-through parking.

I assume you'll be coming down 91. Sorry, but there's no "short cut" from 91 to 84W. I seem to hit Hartford traffic at the peak of rush hour - always nice weaving through that place pulling a trailer, but the Law of Gross Tonnage tends to make people avoid me (and I give 'em the finger a lot). It's Haht-fed, after all. Bunch of actuarialist number-crunchers in their Volvos and Bimmers.
Gordon, Rt. 10 heads south from Westfield, Ma. where we will be on Wed. and goes pretty much through Farmington Ct. We'll talk before then. As long as the family stuff stays smooth we'll see you there. We will also have room in our 4 door truck for any passengers who might want a ride from there, although it may be too late to get a room.
I'm down for going a little south on I-81 to pick up with the Southern Caravan. Maybe the Baltimore Contingent might like to intercept you guys at Front Royal, Va.?

For a couple guys who aren't planning on making the show, that might be a nice jaunt to meet some of you fellas, anyway. I'll check with Fred, for example.
Yep--the Brooklyn was a lucky find--delicious and entirely unexpected.

Tom, it is in Bristol and I don't know the exit number either but it's located at 2125 Euclid Avenue which is also highway's 1, 11 and 421 --it's definitely a major drag.

I'm happy to hear that you'll join us.

John is our resident expert on ETA stuff and I hope will give you a time we expect to roll into there.

We will be caravanning with David and Francine stroud (IF we can keep up with his big new Suby power plant!) and my son, Russ in his 911.
Maybe others as well.

I'm glad you will join us! We owe you one for that wonderful lunch you hosted at the Virginia Country Club so we have a chance to pay you back!
Jeeez, Tom!

We won't see Lane all weekend if you let him cruise the Blue Bomber! He'll wander off with Max to go look at what he can do with a Fiero chassis to make one that looks like your rocket ship -- or, worse, he'll troll the flea market looking for angular scoops and headrests to make his Speedster look Italian!

Maybe let a touch of air out of that offer, and ask him if he wants to borrow the Yellow Bird for a minute or two, huh?

'Course, my 200-foot cruise with that yellow beast in first gear last year still causes me to wonder what second through sixth would have been like. That car's COOL!
