009 vs Pertronix Billett Distributor w/ Ignitor II Module

I have a 1835 cc motor with dual 44 webers and I can't seem to get the timing right. The motor pops at idle and hesitates on acceleration. So I'm considering upgrading my 009 distributor (ignitor module installed) to a new Pertronix billett distributor w/ the Ignitor II module and flamethrower coil. Can anyone give me information on making this upgrade?
