Hey Bob..............careful how you write ads. One might think you were selling the car for 11K versus the Samba listing for $18,500. Still a good price at $18,500 as it appears from the condition of yours, year and mileage. I bought a 2001 Speedster almost identically decked out but run down tremendously by comparison and I needed to get it from Michigan ($900 transport) and I am approaching 300 hours in refurbishing and I have not even re-painted the hood or bumper yet. Nice turn key car for someone. Should sell..............

BY THE WAY..............since you have a 2001 Speedster from Vintage, can you confirm a few things for me with mine?

Plugs: shorts not longs and gapped at .025?
Distributor: 002 but because of the mysterious "electronic ignition" it needs an 009 rotor and cap (do you have any idea of the electronic ignition manufacturer?)
Any other specs of stuff used at Vintage in 2001, GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks,

Dennis, it could be. I went to the compufire site and downloaded pictures. I need to look at it again. I just did not see anything with a brand on it. The Compufire 21100 may be it. What plugs do you take on your 2000? I put in the "7"'s instead of the "8's" short reach and it is getting better. I think there is just an art to setting the carbs I have not mastered. I am just trying to inventory everything in this car that I can. The distributor says on the side: 0231147002 yet an 002 cap does not fit and the rotor for 002 does not either. Other numbers are 111905205. I set the darn thing 7.5 degrees BTDS and it is better than it was.
