Chuck,
Where is the condensor in a Speedster with AC? I am curious because, although I'm not ready to buy now, yours sounds exactly like what I will be wanting. I had a 914 years ago and the condensor was in the pan of the front trunk which interfered somewhat with the spare tire and luggage room. (still better than no AC!)
Matt

Chuck, Did you already sell your car? Even if you did, I am curious about the location of the A/C condensor, and if you don't sell it in the next few months, I may become a very serious buyer. I love the colors, and the other specs appear to be exactly what I would want. So, if you (Chuck) or someone else would help me undestand these little cars I may be able to become one of the "owners club."
Thanks,
Matt

The AC, usually tucked up under the front of the nose of the car, like where a radiator would go on most cars.
Thanks,
what does this do to the spare tire space?

Matt. Here's a gentle hint buddy. Put your questions under the General Knowledge or Tech Threads. This is a For Sale Ad and not a shop talk thread. Thank you.
Brrgghh it's cold in here..
better yet, Matt, put your question on the "air cooled engine"
thread, they should be able to solve your problem within weeks....

Yes, let's jump all over the guy for asking a simple question. That really creates a 'welcoming environment' for people who are new to the site or to speedsters.
My question was specifically about the car that is advertised for sale at the top of this thread.

Good looking car, Chuck
I think I'm beginning to like the tone this thread is taking,
you moderators better get in here and clean this up....
With all the sanitary things going on in this world, (the latest being the removal of the pledge from our schools), its nice to know there is a place to come and air your frustrations, differences or just plain meanness, as unpolitical as it may be......
The SOC rocks.....

A "Point of Information" please.
Why did moderator (Jim Bob) jump on Matt rather then jumping on Steve?
Matt only asked a reasonable question based upon O'Brien's seemingly spontaneous, and apparently usolicited (and off topic) comment about the location of the condenser.
Unless there was one of those "moderator deletions" Dale Bates asked about in "what goes on here", I think it was quite appropriate for Matt to ask about the location of the spare tire. Particularly when you consider that a moderator (O'Brien) mentions the AC condenser is in the front.
Oh and just to clarify the issue..."what does this do to the spare tire space?"
Noblesse Oblige (aka, moderators get a pass)

Then, Matt, you have my apologies. My intent was not to be "gruff" or rude. You did post previous questions that were general in nature about Vintage Speedsters. And you mentioned that you thought the car might be sold. So, I misunsderstood, and I apologize to you and Chuck (the seller). I hope the seller responds. If not, then I would again give you a "gentle hint" (My previous words) to re-post on the General or General Tech Threads. Good luck in your quest for a replica.
The other messages from the SOC peanut gallery were deleted from this "For Sale Thread". I believe there is a proper forum for that.

Is this car still for sale? I'm in Phx and I'm interested.
