We called 911 and when the SC State Trooper arrived we told him what had happened. He said he never would have believed us, but just before he got off at the exit he saw what looked like a 30 pound wild turkey lying dead, just onto the median. He also helped getting the truck moved to a secure place - "You don't want to leave it here at the gas station - If you do, it won't be here tomorrow" he said.
While it was a frustrating experience, it all turned out well and he were surrounded by great friends at Christmas. Things seem to work out, somehow.
Don't know if the turkey was tenderized or not - All I saw was a HUGE black ball coming right at me going "Flap - flap - flap - flap - flap, then gliiiiide and Smash!"
