Leave the wife (and adult supervision) at home; you'll have a blast!
Wive's are encouraged to attend, mine looks forward to it each year!
Speaking as a wife, I have a ball every time! I love our little, silver tub and the people whom we have met at Carlisle are like family to us. Cory calls the Carlisle weekend our version of Disney.
If your wife is a “car guy” she will love it. If she enjoys hanging out with really awesome, friendly people she will love it. If she enjoys riding in tiny cars she will love it.
If not, welll .... there is always someone looking to fill an empty right seat.
Speaking as a female Spyder owner, I am glad my hubby enjoys going along on my Spyder adventures. I definitely do not consider myself or any other female car enthusiast a *car guy*..... we have met some great people at Carlisle and have had a lot of fun times..... getting to drive Nolans Speedster at our first rainy gathering many years ago was one of the best memories!!!

Nice to hear from you Darcy ( sorry ...Darcie ? ) Hope to see you both at Carlisle again this year. Francine still says you owe her a ride. And I still say you make nice cookies and thanks for sending us home with some a couple of years back.
Talking about Nolan, here's an odd shot we took while driving in Virginia a couple of years back on the way to Carlisle. Aaron White passing me but Nolan is following me in the rear view mirror. Nice memories and many more to come I hope.
Hey...found one more pic...the Spyder Girl herself maybe back in 2011. She knows her stuff and drives like it too.

Hello David and Francine!! Yes David, you got my name right the second guess! LOL It is Darcie, my mom picked out a crazy spelling! Tell Francine I definitely know she is still owed a Spyder ride! Last year when I went to find her, you both had left the grounds early as it was a bit hot outside! Then the next day it was freezing! I promise this year she gets a ride! You are welcome for the cookies for your long ride home! Thanks for the fun cookie memory! haha, I had stayed up late making like 15 dozen for everyone that had super long trips home and for the few others that asked for them... I will have to do that again for you both!
I love that photo that you captured of Nolan in the mirror! Very cool memory! It had rained like crazy that weekend and he insisted we drive the Speedster since it had a top and leave the Spyder under the tarp! He said he would rather ride with Tom in *Big Bird* (Toms gorgeous yellow Porsche!) Do you remember the time we drove up on you and Francine on the freeway? Steve had the Spyder going at a good clip, no other cars on the turnpike and we saw you and Francine up ahead...all I saw as we drove up on your Speedster was blonde and silver hair flying in the wind, you had obviously saw us coming from your mirror, and stuck your arm out, with your thumb up... great times! Looking forward to seeing you both again soon!
Yes that is a super old picture! 2011 sounds about right! That was probably my favorite time going to Carlisle. I have a few pictures I found, the first one is me in Nolans beautiful Speedster he loaned to us that weekend. Thanks again Nolan!! Have a safe journey from Canada! You always have the best stories!

We will see you at Carlisle. Bobbi will be my right seater. Registration and Hotel reservations made. Will send out the payment for the Saturday Night Gala. Hawaiian shirts in tow!
Al!!! It'll be good to see you again!
Sorry I won't be there. I would have loved to see Jim Ward's old IM. That car goes back quite a ways on this site, and with a few good stories to go along with it.

Don't all Speedsters classify as "unwrapped toys?" Of course most of 'em aren't new, so there's that.

If your name has an asterisk, I have not yet received your check for the Awards Dinner. Checks need to be in by May 1. |
Hi Jenni---great job by you and Cory---can't wait to see everyone at Carlisle.
Jenni--I and I'll bet everyone else would be grateful if email addresses and phone contacts could be added to this list.
And---I see Jim is bringing Ginny---whoo hoo!
Put an asterisk by my name, but the check will be sent soon.
RIch, maybe you can trade some T-Shirts... just kidding
Jack: Jeni only has one N.
And re: phone number list
That should be distributed by email and not posted on a public forum. If it is, kindly delete my number, all those who need mine already have it. Pretty sure you already have it Jack.......
Did I tee shirt order form?

Jack,
Given this is a public forum, I am not sure having everyone's information posted would be a good idea. If the folks here would like me to email out a phone list, I would be happy to do so - as long as anyone who does not wish to have their number included lets me know by next Friday.

My thought exactly. And Jack can give me as many "Ns" as he would like. LOL ;-)

That is what I get for not scrolling up far enough on my list. ;-)
TRP, Ted, T-shirt order forms are not Jeni and Cory’s responsibility. That be my baby to handle. I posted the forms and info on “enhancements”. I haven’t been on here much anymore so the interface takes me awhike to get used to. Or PM me and I can help.
Has there been much(or any)discussion regarding the Saturday night "after the Gala" auction items? Do you have contributors or are you still looking for people to step up to the plate? I will be bringing a group favorite. I hope it is still a favorite!
Al,
Yes indeed! We are encouraging everyone to once again, bring an item for the Post-Gala Raffle Table and, if possible, to also bring a new, unwrapped toy - for the Toys for Tots collection at the show field. We will have a box for toys at the hotel and will take them to the show field on Sunday.

One "n". Got it. And I do have your tel #, danny. Maybe a handout or something but I would like to have a list of tel #s if at all possible. Maybe even a membership directory---all groups I know about have one. The SOC directory on this site is worse than useless, if you have ever tried to look someone up.
Hey, everyone -- In case you're a skimmer and just kind of look through topics without REALLY reading them (I do that) -- this is a friendly reminder that the deadline to have your information and/or checks to us by is May 1st.
The number of registered vehicles for the showfield dictates the tent-and-table situation for 2019, but the number of registrations (as such) for the dinners and cruises will help us with the places we're visiting and eating at. Important stuff.
There are currently around 30 registered vehicles (I'm not at home tonight, where the current information is), and we know there are folks staying at the hotel who haven't passed their intentions to Jeni about when -- or if -- to expect a check. That'll be important in the next couple weeks, as the May 1st deadline approaches.
She's put a lot -- a LOT -- of effort into making sure this is going to be a memorable event. We're one-and-done, and we want to make sure everyone has a great time.
So please, if there's a chance you've overlooked getting in touch with one of us about which things you'll be participating in, kindly take a minute and drop a line.
Cory

For those of you on the infamous southern caravan that will stop in Bristol for lunch on Tuesday 5/15, please advise if there is interest in visiting Hugh Tackett's "Garag Mahal" in nearby Bluff City. Sadly, Hugh lost his battle with cancer in February, but his lovely life Brenda is keeping it intact for the time being. If you have not seen this, it is quite a treat. Contacted a few folks off site, but posting here as well. FYI: Hoss your last email address I have for you bounced.
FYI, Hugh hosted the caravan for a BBQ lunch there last year shortly before he was diagnosed. It was a fantastic lunch in a place that most car guys can only dream of. Sadly, my schedule won't include a stop there this year, but I encourage those in the Southeast Caravan to partake again.
Last chance to book your Carlisle Hotel Room.....
Rooms are still available, room block expires tomorrow.

Gee, I wonder who this is in reference to? A hint: NOT ME!
We've got our room. We've sent our checks. See y'all there.
Hey, you can always become a member of the “Blue Tarp Club”.
Gordon, I always bring the Cal Custom cover AND a tarp if it gets crazy wet down there. It definitely wasn't me that left a car under the portico all night. They know who they are......

Calling David Stroud — please drop a line ASAP. We need to know a couple things, and there’s a deadline involved. :-)
@David Stroud IM Roadster D Hey David, just wanted to bring the above message to your attention.
Yep, thanks everybody. We're down in Fla now and plan to attend Carlisle. I say plan,,,we are each wrestling with family care for a 95 and96 year old parent. Cannot commit till later this month, hence the delay.
Gordon, I see you got a nice picture of Bruce's old shin-breaker exhaust pipe! That got me the year we stayed right off of exit 52....I think it was the year of the dead Ford truck pulled by Hoopty.
This years Carlisle attendance is down a small percentage i.e family commitments, graduations etc. However, it's not too late to make plans to attend. If you have yet to cross into another dimension and discover the Speedsters Meet Spyders weekend, you are missing out on boat load of fun. The hotel room block has expired but I would assume that if you call and plead some sort of fable they may, offer the discounted room rate ....CU there !
