The latest that I know---Hoss and Sarah with Nolan and Jan will get dinner with me tomorrow at 6 at Aubreys near Nashville.  Then the following morning, Wednesday I believe Hoss and Sarah will be driving their daily driver to Christiansburg---I definitely am.  Like in the past, whoever else is at C'burg can join us for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays.   The Mullis' for two.   Then Thursday we caravan to Mechanicsburg and will stop at the Crackerbarrel to see who made i there close to noon.

I am launching from Hot Springs early in the  morning to be at Aubreys at 6

Who else will join us along the way?   The more the merrier!

Jack

Carlisle Rain Out Contingency Plan Part Deux

1) No panicking.

2) If Mother Nature sees fit to sink us, we will saddle up in whatever we can and head to the winery by a nice but expeditious route at 0930. They are aware that we may arrive ahead of our originally planned schedule. We will hang out there for a hour or so, then return to the hotel to break for lunch.

3) After lunch, anyone who wants to can meet up at the Autobahn Indoor Go-Kart track in Lemoyne, PA (10 mins from hotel). The cost is approximately $50.00 per person for 3 - 14 lap races. Thank you Alan and Connie for the great idea!

See link for more information.

4) Don’t panic. We have towels and answer is 42.

It will be epic even in the rain!

Indeed, Al. Not gonna miss it. Glad you're coming!

We will hoist a brew or 3 (or ???) Danny! I still have to figure out how to get from the Detroit airport to the motel/hotel in Ann Arbour so it's easy for Michael to pick me up Thurs. am...

PS- I'm looking forward to meeting all you Other Coast guys. And El Guapo!

Due to imminent crappy weather, and in the interest of safety, please feel free to “sticker up” your daily driver instead of your Speedster, Spyder or MG.

We are debating about even towing the car at this point - maybe instead we can all make blue tape outlines of our various vehicles on the sides of our daily drivers and use our imaginations!

Bottom line - if you would like to still bring your little car to Carlisle, by all means, do so. But if you would rather drive your beat up Chevy Caprice with the Submarine Package, that is awesome too.

We are a family and Cory and I would like ALL our family to make it safely to the reunion this year.

Be advised if you sticker up your daily driver it will go through gate 3 w/o question if... it is an import. In past years I've slow for the gate 3 people but keep going without making eye contact "~)

After confirming with Carlisle Events, if you would like to take your daily driver to the show, stop by Vendor Services at Gate 3 and tell them you are with the Speedster Owners Group and they will hand stamp you for admission AND you will have to park in the General Admission parking area. There will be NO added cost.

Ray:  Registration (Gate 3) is here:  1000 Bryn Mawr Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013

Pull in off of Bryn Mawr into the field at the light and the registration is on your left - can't miss it.

Once you get pass security, look for a big stadium/stage-style building off towards the right.  Follow the road around and you'll see 356s lined up right near the stadium on the gate 3 side.

Don't forget to bring your Carlisle confirmation - an email on your Phone is OK.

I did not know you were coming.  So looking forward to meeting you.

When we've attended in past years, I always got a sticker for Pearl AND another one for my pickup (I trailered her from SC or Mass....Remember?) and I never had a lick of trouble driving onto the field with the pickup and trailer.  All they look for is a valid windshield sticker for THAT SHOW.  The so-called "security" people aren't looking for anything other than the windshield sticker, believe me.  That's their seasonal job and they're happy to have it.

That had been the case with us as well. But, I didn’t want anyone to get bagged up because of something I said.

The SUV was labeled “Support Vehicle” and they left it alone.
