1914 Engine Big Enough?

Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting a Spyder, and may have an opportunity to get one with the 1914 CB engine producing 130hp. Is this going to be quick enough or should I wait until I find a Spyder with a larger engine? I don't want to get this beautiful car and then feel like it's sluggish.

Your car will weigh in the 1400 lb neighborhood and with 130 hp will be about 10.7 lbs per horsepower. That puts it smack down in "muscle" car territory. It will be quite spunky. angela

I have 120bhp from a 1776cc type one VW unit.
O to 60 mph in about 6 sec's
Thats plenty in a 500kg wieght car! Esp on drum brakes!!!
These cars wiegh so little that if you upgrade the brakes you are wasting money.
You do not stop any faster just put bigger skid marks on the street.
Unless you intend to go racing on the track 1914 cc is plenty
