Just wanted to share some of the latest photos of my 1956 356 Coupe VIN 56919. Carey Hines at Special Edition has been restoring this car for me. It required extensive metal work from a prior crash in the 70s; Carey "un-effed" it and has spend thousands (yes thousands) getting it ready for paint. This car has been blocked and sanded to an incredible level -- Carey's body man, Troy, even went over the drip rails and hidden spots to make it all perfect.

We've done it like a real GT car -- smooth satin black underside without undercoat, louvered rear lid (5 instead of 6) and numerous other fun bits from real GT cars. I'll share those bits as we go along!

I believe Carey will start re-assembling the car soon, so we'll have some great photos to share in the coming month.

Alloy rims with steel centers, as real Carrera GTs had. The earliest date stamped ones were available in 2/57, which is what we have (5 total).

"Louvered lid (Original lid painted too, in case the next owner wants to go back)"

Anand, you could have just said, "Louvered lid, (Original lid painted too, so when I give the car to Robert he can use it if he wants.".

I'm not worried if everyone knows you're going to give the car to me after you drive it for a little while.
