1957 356 Porsche Speedster Replica FOR SALE!!! Built by JPS Motorsports, John Steele in 2005. Must sell, finishing a new hot rod right now, 1954 Chevy 3600 Pick-up, long bed. I have too many vehicles and must let this car go, sadly. The car is in excellent condition, driven locally here in Grass Valley, CA. It's a 2110, with dual IDF Webers. Infinity Silver with two-tone gray interior, cocoa mats, Satellite radio radio, etc. Low miles, around 13,000. Just recently had carbs set and valves adjusted. Still looks like new. I'm asking $24,500.00. Serious inquiries only, please. Contact Bob, at 530-346-1408, or bobmartin95949@gmail.com.

Bob---good luck with your car sale---it is truly a georgeous Speedster! Your price is very reasonable for such a nice car!

There is something about a JPS Speedster---they just look r-i-g-h-t
and their paint work is about the finest of any manufacturer as far as I can tell. The JPS site is a winner with many outstanding cars in the "gallery" section of the site. I think of it as "drool central!"

At carlisle, John Steele kindly took some time to show me the rear water splash shield he is now putting in all his cars. It effectively closes that gap found in every pan based replica that allows water to enter through the rear floor area--the gap where the fiberglass body meets the pan. For some reason no amount of undercoat will seal this gap. I have already assembled the aluminum sheet, pop rivet gun and spray on undercoat to modify my car and am making this modification this weekend. (I am glad I have a pan based car because it mirrors the authentic Teutonic set up of the original Porsche Speedster as good old Ferdinand designed it. Same for an air cooled engine too.) With what John showed me I can hope for another water source to be eliminated---hopefully the last one!

Bob, If I didn't already have the car of my dreams----and getting even better very soon with 140+ HP, I'd jump on the chance to own your beautiful JPS.

Good luck to you!---Jack
Jack, just start with a piece of card stock, trim it until it fits, then cut what you need out of galvanized tin.
Add a rubber edge with an aluminum channel in it that you can crimp, and use three rivets where you see the best possible points to use on the frame.
It's like a forward-mounted mud flap.
The ones I made for Tom's car were from JPS templates that almost fit perfectly -- but they were wood-grained siding, and he was trying to enhance the appearance of his car for sale purposes.
I also spent a little time on his engine tins; same reason.
It didn't take long to make them.

Sorry for the hijack. This could be its own thread.
Thanks for the kind words and the interest Jack. I have been very happy with JPS and John Steele's work. John actually became a friend in the process of working with him to build my Speedster. I will eventually by another JPS, next time it will be one of his coupes. Then I can drive all year round here in Grass Valley. It gets a little nippy in the Winter up here. I think Terry drives his in the snow though :) I don't have an excuse.
Hey Terry, good to hear from you. Yeah, I'm very sad about selling Speedie, but I know I will probably buy another one from John. Next time I will get one of John's new coupes and drive that baby all year long. Also, had to break down and by a Jeep 4x4 just to get out of the driveway in the Winter. Got stuck this year for two days. Thanks for the offer to borrow Penny, she's a beautiful Speedster. I just had Alan adjust the floats and blow out the jets on the Webers and Speedie is running incredibly smooth. I had an awesome ride today. Later. Take care. Thanks again Jack! I'm gonna post some more pix over the weekend.
