I am pleased to offer this wide body 1957 Porsche Speedster replica by CMC. The neat part about this classic kit car is that it has a real 1963 1600cc Porsche 356 engine!  No VW motor here.  Very unique, very cool, very quick.

Owner just finished installing a new Painless Performance wiring harness kit (very high quality).  Also just spent approx. $2500 with a 356 expert having the motor and carbs tuned to perfection.  Owner also has a bunch of original 356 parts that go with the car and also has the convertible top and tonneau cover for the car (both are uninstalled).

Exterior:

Very nice exterior with no fiberglass defects noted. No dings, chips, spider webbing etc. Good quality red paint.

Interior:

Good quality interior. Nice fit and finish.

Underside:

I was very impressed by the condition of the underside.  Very clean and very solid.  Be sure to review those pictures carefully.

Tires:

Goodyear tires in excellent condition with lots of tread remaining.

Title:

Car is titled as a 1969 VW and includes a full CMC construction binder along with all receipts for parts etc. from the when the build started (in 1988).  VIN # is 119025670.

@RONUSSER.COM I just read what occurred the last time you posted a car for sale here.  In an effort to subdue that same type of response, may I offer a suggestion?
Be honest about your product.  These are very intelligent folks on this forum that know these cars inside and out.  Lying to them about work that has been done or the overall condition is not going to go very far.  Admit what you know, and simply state you don't know what you don't know.  No clever "salesy" adjectives are necessary.  Detailed information and clear photos work great.

And don't forget very unique cars and motorcycles.  If you object to the posting, I apologize and feel free to remove it.  If it is a cool car that might appeal to the membership, then leave it and have people who are seriously interested in purchasing it, contact me.  It is a customer car that I thought the membership might enjoy seeing and potentially buying.  If you're not satisfied with my description, then please remove it and we move on.  No need to get all negative.

Actually, you don't understand how it works (and how could you unless someone explains it to you?).

You see, if anybody (aside from a select few) posts anything for sale here, the chances are about 99.9% sure that the ad will rapidly descend into a feeding-frenzy akin to sticking some raw meat in a tank full of piranha.

No car is too nice to escape the scrutiny when there are nits to be picked. No fairly priced item can avoid the watchful eye of the value-police. May God help you if your "for sale" post is the first thing you ever put up.

Welcome to our absolute worst habit. We're a friendly(ish) sort.

What you say is so true. Its to bad this forum at one time was a good site for cars "For Sale" No longer!

That is a shame.  It is right place to sell these cars.  Shame.

It is.

We have nobody to blame but ourselves. You've got a nice car for sale there, and fairly priced from what I can see. I personally think the Porsche engine makes it more valuable, if for no other reason than to remove and sell it seperately.

Good luck with your sale. Ebay is where guys who really want to sell go.

I'll draw flak for this, but I think that posting "For Sale" classified ads should be available to Supporting Members only. I also think there should be a dedicated forum for classified ads.

That might ward off shysters and offset the revenue loss from the dumping of SAS as an advertiser.

Most everything else on here is free except for a couple of parts of the site already reserved for Supporting Members.

It's a cheap date and I still think worth it. Sure, we get into whizzing contests among us every time a car goes up for sale, mostly upstaging each other, but that's what people do. I am a people.

Well, Bob, I have to disagree (but no real flak coming your way).  BTW, you knew flak was a military term, yes?

If we prevent people from posting cars for sale, those who log in here (this is not a closed site) with the intent of seeing what might be for sale could potentially miss out on a good car.

Theron 'owns' this site, and it's up to him as to how he handles issues such as this.  I have no problems with people posting cars for sale here, just with how these posts are sometimes received by some.

It's a big hobby, and different cars appeal to different folks.

I learned about flak in the Marines.

I speak only for myself and clearly understand that Theron makes the decisions.

We are not the only site where Speedsters can be advertised, but we may be the best place to advertise them to people truly interested in the hobby.

Nobody is prevented from advertising here, only charged $49.00 for the privilege, and after the first ad the rest are free for the duration of a year. Don't want to advertise on the premier Speedster hobby site in North America, there are plenty of other sites that may or may not charge.

Best to you, Bob. Hope all is well.

I just became a supporting member, I have been hanging around for some time and I check the classifieds almost everyday. I just felt it was worth the 50 bucks to hangout here. This is really the only Speedster replica site that's worth a dam. I would think you guys would want lookers and sellers to show up here. What's wrong with a guy posting a car here for sale on his first and only post. I think there are some members who have made some $$$$ on some of these deals. Enough of my rant, I just think its a bad idea to run potentially good deals and good people off...Thanks

DITTO: something extraordinary might show up and some member WILL get a deal OR use his/her discretion to do otherwise. Nice to have the option to connect with a possible good BUY/SELL?
