I watched as it finished. I do a lot of ebay in my restorations (400+ rating) and knew your aspiration was perhaps too high. I am a bargain finder. My Boxter with only 13,000 miles on it was obtained for $22,000. My Mercedes 230 Compressor with only 13,000 miles on it for $17,000. Ebay has a lot of pretty sophistocated bidders on it. If you have watched, in the last two weeks, more than 2/3 of the speedsters on there have not sold. The market is soft. Unfortunately for you that makes it a buyers market. While the one I got has some surface rust and some paint damage, it is a 2001 Vintage. I have totally rebuilt cars so that should be minor to bring it back to CA standards. I looked at one LA one Craigslist with an old CMC/Fiberfab which the guy will probably take $10,000 for with a new engine, four wheel disks, decent interior and totally new wiring. Body work (paint) and a lot of cleaning needed. He got it as a debt repayment and wants the room in his shop. When I say, I have been scouring the internet, believe me I have. I even have a guy in the Yukatan putting them (CMC's) on ebay that is REALLY a deal. Sorry if I offended you, but there is a LOT of flux in the $15,000 to $10,000 range. If the last bidder for $13,000 is below your mark but close, go back to ebay and it allows you to make him an offer. That way, you have one on the hook if you need to get rid of the car. Just advice from an "older" guy.
Sometimes the "toy" chest just gets too full. Breaks your heart but you have to let go. Plus, think about Washington. The "temporary" top as Porsche originally called it, is just not practical where the sun does not shine more than half of rhe year. That is why there are so many for sale in the Midwest. The guy retires and has the expensive houses build a beauty and after the bloom is off the rose in a year or two...................ebay.

You guys with the "hot" ones out on the southern coasts don't appreciate cold weather so cold the snot freezes in your nose or so much rain that you don't have a water bill.

On ebay, you can demand an escrow account for about $50 bucks. I did that once when I bought the Boxster. They hold the cash and that means it is there.
