1975 Porsche 911S Targa
Silver Porsche 911s Targa with Black Interior.
Odometer Reads - 62000 (have no proofs its original, have no proof that its not)
Black interior - Dash has cracks , carpet is probably original and dirty.
Manual windows - big plus
Air condtioning converted to R134a - buy a can at autozone when it gets low and recharge it yourself.
Cookie Cutter Style Original Porsche Rims - New Nitto tires - they have 2000 miles on them at most
Rare 1 piece Targa Removeable top - I was told that this peice alone is worth $1500-2000 , it is not the retractable kind that folds, its a hard one peice.
915 - 5 speed transmission - Recent Gear oil replaced 1000 miles ago
2.7l 6 cylinder motor - Has Updated Chain Tensioners installed by previous owner, i replaced Warm up regulator last fall.
EXTERIOR:
Silver paint. Its been painted on by previous owner. There is over spray on the front windshield seal, looks like front end was repainted, including the doors. There are a few scuff marks on the passenger side door, these were again sanded by previous owner, no dents just deep scratches.
There are no signs of RUST. This is a pre-galvanized Porsche Body but on the lift and as per inspection by me and my mechanic and a few local people that have looked at the car.. it is PRETTY MUCH RUST free. There are few spots where paint has chipped and there is discolorization.
The Chrome Trim is in great shape. It holds a great shine.
Outside driver side mirror, its pretty UGLY. Its there but is due to be replaced.
Gap on driver side door is off a little, it doesnt shut flush with the rear of car. Im sure its just an adjustment of the latch assembly.
INTERIOR:
Black original interior. Seats are near perfect and are firm.
Dash has crack down middle and around the speaker vent on top of dash.
MECHANICALLY:
Get in and drive anywhere! Recent oil change, gear oil change of the transmission. These 2.7's are awesome, being an " S " Higher out-put motor. 180HP i believe is the HP rating. Car is cold blooded. Doesnt like to run or stay at idle for the first few minutes when starting up. I replaced WUR but that didnt solve the problem, cold start valve on the CIS is probably to blame. With it being 70's now , it starts right pretty good, still a little cold blooded. Once warmed up idles perfect and drives amazingly.
RECENT MAINTENCE:
New tires on the factory Cookie cutter rims
I replaced the clutch cable and had the pedal cluster rebuilt
Recently a few months ago replaced all shifter bushings / couplers.
WHAT IT NEEDS - TROUBLES
Of course to be perfect needs cosmetically repainted probably.
Cold Start issue sorted out - with the summer time almost here, not an issue.
Driver side front strut is leaking - i was quoted $150-300 for an insert
Ignition Switch sometimes doesnt like to turn to the start position - i have a used one but never installed it cuz didnt want to rekey the doors
Leaks a little oil on passenger side of the motor - what old porsche / vw doesnt ?
