Well it looks like i'm the next in line... I'm off to perhaps buy a 03 Vintage in Thousand Oaks today!!! Color, silver with black leather... 2300 miles on it. I have been looking at these cars for 16 years now and I think it's time don't you? I had a real Porsche 356 B back in 74 when I was in High School however, it's was kinda funky with no bumpers, 6 volt, missing parts here and there. this car I am looking at is "MINT" If I get it today I will be a member of Speedster owners! I will keep you posted. Robby.
If Robbie is looking at the one I think he is.. well then I believe it was posted here under Todd a few weeks ago. A very sweet looking 2003 VS with min. mileage.. Todd was very stiff with his orginal price, and this weekend I got the email from Todd that it was sold.. So I hope it went to Robbie.. Robbie will be very happy with that ride... P.S. I just dropped the front end about 1 1/2 inches on my VS and it looks SWEEEEEEET! I love the lowered look I know, I know about the ride but I just love that look!

Let's talk soon Robbie!

David, Yes I am the guy who bought Todd's Speedster! Wow!!!! The car is just "MINT" I am very impressed with how clean and well kept the car was... Todd was a cool customer I liked him and his wife, they were super nice people I know I paid alot however, you get what you pay for the car is like new not a scratch on her plus all the bells and whistles too boot! : 0yeha!!!! I live in Santa Barbara let's perhaps meet or talk soon? Have a good one, robby.
Jim, thanks for the nice note... I love the rack and the vintage suitcase!!!!! Where did you get the leather straps??? Oyeah love the old case as-well did you find the case at a thrift shop??? Did those cool vintage stickers come with it??? Just very cool stuff here! I will try to make the Paso run but we have a big show here in Santa Barbara and I was thinking perhaps putting the speedster in are show. Too bad it's the same weekend:-( Robby AKA ROTNROBY.
Hey RotnRoby!

If you haven't notice from the other SOC threads, there are quite a few AARP members on this site (me included). Sooo, to answer your question, that "vintage" suitcase is actually my luggage from my high school days (it was actually an upgrade from the paper sack I used previously). However, you can find them in antique shops or the like. If you contact me via private e-mail, I can share some info on the straps and stickers.

Hey David!

How cool is it that we have these cars? So cool that after 10 years of ownership, I still jones to drive this bad boy. Too bad we didn't have them back in the day to cruise either Whittier Blvd or Bellflower Blvd. Maybe another suggestion for a 'handle' could be the "Davester"?

Have Fun and Be Safe!
Jimbo, you hit the nail on the "head" my friend.. Hitting the blvd was always fun.. I had my Root beer brown "66" Chevelle "Dumped" with Centerlines wrapping her body with a black vinyl top. Vince you have to remember Scotty's too! good burgers and a place to watch all the action on Whittier blvd. I could only imagine having these rides back then... Most guys would probably think we jumped ship to Germany or something.. I remember it was all about American Muscle! back in the day... Now look at us... I love it! Just because you get older doesn't mean you have to GROW-up!

Hey you Cali guys, there's some local (Milwaukee...midwest, no where near the surf) band here that is a straight up '60's surf band....almost all instrumentals that recorded (what I think) was an original song called Whittier Blvd. Can you tell me where it is. Perhaps if "google" the nelsonics or maybe it was the other surf band the exotics, you can find it. All twang and killer surf beat. Let me know more. It's 24 degrees as I write this....that's Fahrenheit. Brrrrrrrrrrr!!! WInter never ends in Wisconsin, it just takes a break for a few months.
