I drive this car 9 mths of the year in Boston and a Subaru station wagon 3 mths of the year. My son is getting his license and then he is getting the Subaru so I need a winter car. My wife says 4 cars are too many. In addition I bike to work in good weather so it is hard to justify keeping it.

It has 66,000 miles. It has a Jake Raby Type 1 2165 engine with 25,000 mile on it. It has an external oil cooler and a relatively new exhaust system.

The body is in good shape except for a ding in the fiberglass in the back.

I need advice on how much I should ask for it.I want to set a price that will result in a fast sale since I have little time to devote to this process. I was thinking around 12,000 but the folks on this site are experts so I am open to being set staight.I will try to get pictures ( computer ignorant). If you go to the 356 Registry and look under member cars and go to the 1961 pictures and look at Perez Dimaggio listing it will refer you to a website that the prior owner set up with many pictures of this car.
thanks for the help. David

Dave if you have a hard time with CPU's then at least type in MORE info about the car.. i.e. color shape of paint, chome, and major factors like engine displacement and mileage (You did that... ) brakes, tops that come with it, rack? How it runs, and service that you recently had done... All these figures will help some folks here give you an idea of pricing... even without pix... Honestly, $12K pretty sweet price...

Good luck to you and your sale...

I am completely new to this and not offering any info on what it may be worth.. I will leave it to the experts here. What I did want to bring to your attention is an ebay ad for a much older, more miles, car that you may find interesting in its asking price. The top on this thing hangs worse than my grandma's skin....

Item number: 280092529095

In case you hadn't seen it already.

That car on Ebay looks like a pretty nice platform to improve on. Nice older Intermec. I could change a couple of things such as the color of the upholstery (two tone with burgundy is not my style) and do away with the home made return spring for the linkage. I also noticed that it has wide five pattern wheels in the back with four bolts in the front; that can be fixed easily too but all in all I think it's a cool car.
Sorry guys that I haven't responded. I have been busy and I have been negotiating with a buyer from Washington. In addition I have had to get the car sorted out because people have been asking me questions for which I didn't have the answers . The engine was running rough and I didn't know why. I decided to get it fixed up and sell it to a man from Washington since he has been looking for one for a long time. I know this isn't the best way to sell a car but I needed to get it done quick. I have enjoyed my years on this site. I always looked forward to reading posts from such a knowledgable group. Continue to enjoy these great cars. David
This is one of the many that has passed through my "hobby speedster shop" a few years ago.
I bought it particially assembled from Larry Byrd's home in Indiana, complete with an autographed B'ball.
It has a great 1835 that is a runner, I completed the speedster and motor selleing it to a female Doctor in Texas but don't know any other history to date.
