I bought the silver and red leather Spyder from Chuck Beck new in 2000; it was assembled by Chuck and Frankie; it has the Pat Downs 2165 with 44 Webers; front discs, rear drums; Nardi and original wheel; top included, never used. It has been incredibly reliable. Adult driven, never raced nor wrecked nor bumped, no track time, never overrevved; oil changed about every 1500-2000 miles. 23,000+ kilometers= about 13,800 miles. The paint is great except on the nose, this area was not particularly robust on Beck's of this vintage I'm told, numerous small chips, when I asked Chuck he said they look better this way, after all they were old race cars; I think so too. I've owned lot's of old sports cars, this has been my favorite; a similar project beckons. The motor cooked at 1000 miles for some reason; packed it up called Chuck and Pat; they sent me a new motor no questions asked; can't say enough about these guys. Since then no problems. Price new including shipping was around $27,000; now $19,500. Fred O. Butler 317 873 5288 Not too good at sending email images yet I'll work on this and try to attach them.

Keep the Spyder. Sell me the 356. Looks like a '61 and it seems to be in great condition. Actually, if the Spyder is still available, please send me an email at kruttschnitt@optonline.net I'd love to discuss it with you, but I can't get out to look at it until mid-August. I will look forward to your communication. I'm new to the Spyder world, but I am very familiar with the Beck, as I have a couple of Speedsters. Thanks.
dear herb
The 356 is for sale, it's a 1964SC without ANY rust, great paint and runs like a top, the motor was rebuilt 3000 miles ago($9000) by Daughtery and Son in Louisville, unfortunately the numbers no longer match since I hade to replace my case; Ken put in the 86mm big bore piston to displace 1750cc; retained the large valve SC heads; runs very well. Ruby Red grey leather, does have a small hole in the headliner as its only defect, just completed $1000 brake job on the standard 4 wheel disc brakes; I've got about 35,000+ in it would sell for $22,000. Want to sell one or the other, prefer to sell the 356 since am planning to do a 356A outlaw. Call me 317 873 5288 for details; couldn't get your email to work. Fred

Dear Bernie
I'm 6'1" and have plenty of leg room; I reversed the seat rails on the driver side and added about 3 degrees of backward tilt to the seat with the spacers originally on the back of the seat which lowered the sitting position about 3/4 of an inch, allowed for full seat motion and made it alot more comfortable; I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that figured this out.
