FYI, a quick fix for shifter problems on Beck 550's

Recently, my 2002 Beck began acting up, it wouldn't shift properly, The shifter was sloppy and occassionally would grind when I shifted into 2nd gear. (I think it was hitting reverse)

Beck has it's own shifter mechanism and I disocvered that the linkage collar that goes over the shift rod which exits the trans was loose, further, the set screw was nothing more than a socket head bolt. I fired up my grinder and sharpened the end of the bolt to a point, lined it up with the detent hole in the transmission shift rod and applied a little loc-tite.

Shifting problems disappeared.

Check your bolt, I doubt it is pointed, if not, grind a point and solve you problems.
