Just got back from the VW show where I met Bruce and Ron. I wasn't smart enough to get a picture of the 3 of us together. This first picture is Bruce's car that he had entered into the show.

This is another speedster that was at the show up by the CIP booth. Not sure who's car it is.

This bug was quite cool. Flip up hood with nice mural under the hood. Suicide doors. Note the DVD display inside the car. The pan was painted yellow, the suspension was all chromed, the body parts, shocks, etc. were all blue, etc.. The chrome bit right at the front is a compressor for the air shocks. The blue bit below the compressor is the compressed air tank.

This engine has a bit much chrome but what I liked was the curly wires running to all the electrical components. Looked very neat and tidy.

Yeah, I thought speedster engine bays were tight till I saw some of these bugs. You can't see it so much on this car, but some of them have to cut the engine lid flange so there is room for the carbs. I'm not sure how they adjust their carbs cuz you sure can't get at the mixture screws.

I had a great day. You sure can tell that Bruce is an engineer...love that dry sump and even though he says that he can't weld, his exhaust looks great. Interestingly, both of our cars are 84 IM's and both are white in colour. Mine has a red interior and Bruce's interior is black.
Ron's car is a beauty...love that colour (I've already said that a few times...haven't I Ron).
I had a great time talking to you two. Ron, your wife was very patient, standing there listening to us babble on. Mine wouldn't come...I had to drop her off at the mall. If only I could have brought my IM...next year.

Ron and Ron: Good to meet you and put faces to names. I have always seen lots of cars around town but only had a chance to meet a couple of owners. That light blue one that you took a photo of belongs to one of the owners of California Import Parts.

Ron: You have a very nice car and as Ron pointed out a particularly patient wife.
Ron: I
