How would I get an exhaust setup like this. I dont really see anything on Magnaflow site. Anybody have any help for me on this?

Being an IM, that is most likely a system developed by Henry and his crew. They make bespoke exhaust systems for most of the cars they build that have larger engines.

Robert is right.. the car came from IM with the muffler system installed. I am sure if you email Henry at henry@intermeccanica.com you will get an answer to your muffler question quickly. Hope that helps.

It is definitely much quieter than the "stinger" type setup you see on many of the Speedsters with larger engines.

Mike the only other word that is used more frequently and more annoying than bespoke is meme......

You can infer whatever you want from what bespoke implies...

I wasn't objecting to the use of the word. From what I know it was certainly appropriately used.

I just thought it is interesting that it seems like I have recently seen it used more frequently.

I enjoy seeing an expansive vocabulary used here.

I was trying to be humorous, so no problem. I just like to use arcane words once in a while, and bespoke can have so many different interpretations and applications.

It is just my wont to do so on occasion.

My pet peve?

Semi-educated people who use "myself" when they mean "me"-- as in, "Ted and myself went to the conference". It's a great way for people who didn't pay attention in jr. high school English class to sound pompous and ignorant at the same time.

Uh, should be "Ted & I.". Would you say "me went to the conference?". Well, maybe if you are Tarzan, Tonto, or Frankenstein.

Another pet peeve: when people say something like "That was a wonderful evening of wild sex for that Playboy bunny and I." when it should be "That was a wonderful evening of wild sex for that Playboy bunny and me." After all, if you remove the Playboy bunny, "That was a wonderful evening of wild sex for I." makes no sense.

I just like to annoy people, so that is why I mentioned my feelings on those words. I get a kick out of obscure or out of fashion words. During the "credit crisis" I wanted to puke when financial commentators suddenly discovered the term "Tranche". I was horrified that it would be adopted by the teeming masses and I would be cursed with it till my end. But then it seemed that the term was gradually disappearing from usage. No such luck!! I heard it yesterday being applied to politics!! "The Iowa voters gave a large tranche of votes to Santorum". Oh, the humanity!

So, has this car sold?

Aye...a beauty car it is and I'm happy it sold well. Now...regarding the English language, one of the most over and misused punctuation marks is the comma. Technically, it should never be used after the word "and". That's a fact and I know it from encounters with an English Prof that I "attended" to years ago. That was the "Lovely Elizabeth". She encouraged me to be more patient and try to understand that the English language is a progressive thing and is subject to change over time while instructing me to move closer and bring the Merlot with me. Some may not like the idea, but the work "tranche" is a French thing and generally can mean chopped, broken or generally screwed up. For instance....tranche oeuf translates to chopped eggs. Similarly, "meme" could be generally translated to the word "same". A typical French saying is "tu et meme la crut" which means You're like a piece of shyt. YYMV ;-)

Thanks Jim. I regret I was not able to attend some of the fun cruises the group put together. In the three years I owned the car I only put 2000 miles on it. It is a great car and I enjoyed the times I was able to drive it. I hope the new owner enjoys the car and is able to join some of your great auto adventures.

The temptation was almost unbearable...but we have remodel plans for our little condo, and our little VS has been bulletproof. Otherwise.....

Actually, it wasn't a condo re-model! My wife's 97 year old mom lives with us, and I just couldn't convince my wife to postpone for a few years the hip replacement her mom needs!
