For Sale is a one owner since new VS. This car was made in CA and has never left. Local Malibu driving on the weekends. CA Titled as 73 VW, no smog, no BS. It now resides in my garage in San Clemente, CA next to my tube frame Intermeccanica Convertible D. After putting some miles on the speedster I have been able to really identify the pros of each car. These details perhaps in another thread. I wish I could keep both, but the VS must go. I do not have original build sheet but I believe it to be a 1910cc. It has a bit more pep than my IM which I know for certain is a 1776. It also has a deeper exhaust note. I just put brand new Nexen tires on it. Handles like a dream. I am running 22psi up front and 24psi in rear. Disc brakes up front, nice stereo, immaculate seats, top and side curtains, seat belts, this car is truly just breaking in. I priced it to reflect the "driver quality" appearance. This car is meant to be driven. She has some flaws in the paint which I have included detailed pics of. Nice thing is you can just hop in and go, don't worry about little bumps and bruises along the way. She would greatly benefit from a nice polish, I happen to like the current look. I don't see a lot of the green ones on the road. Mechanically its amazing. Fires right up, shifts, steers and stops like new. VS is still in biz obviously and parts are avail. These inner door handles work well but I am going to order the correct ones. Wiper knob switch needs updating but still works. I, too, have a VS from the era (2003).  Oddly enough it had roughly the same mileage when I bought it from the original owner just over two years ago!

I found the engine size was written in wax pencil on the backside (forward face toward the firewall) of the fan shroud.  I first saw it when I pulled the motor out but I understand you can see it with a mirror.

Beautiful car...too bad I only have room for one in my garage!

@benster : excellent price point...I hope you find the right buyer!
