James,

If your closing statement is meant to be a slam, then it was totally without merit. If it was a slam in regards to Brian's classified listing, then why would I suggest that Brian post on SpyderClub, E-Bay and Craigslist.

Brian ultimately posted his car on Craigs list and at SpyderClub.

On SpyderClub, he initially posted something to the effect that I was confrontational regarding his registration, I wasn't.

Later, in a post at SpyderClub, he relented and understood why I was checking on the validity of his registration after I posted the following:

I have a friend who is looking for a Spyder and his criterion is that it be legally registered if it's a Calif. car.

Unfortunately, if a replica Spyder is registered as anything other than a Special Construction, then it's illegal.

This includes 1955-56 Porsche, 196x's Volkswagen etc.

A guy gets stopped by a police officer, the officer says "did you know that you are going 45mph in a 35mph zone?"

The person answers, "well its funny you say that, because I have driven every day on this road at 45mph and have never been stopped, and I didn't know that the speed limit here was 35mph. It also seems everyone else is going 45mph on this road."

The officer replies, "then I guess you know now, and it makes me feel better knowing you really deserve this ticket".

The person driving the car was me, and I realized later how silly I sounded with my justifications; that I didn't know, that I had gotten away with it from the beginning, and that everyone else was doing it that way.
It's finally running great! Engine is all sorted, suspension sorted, but I'm still breaking rear hubs.I just got back from a week vacation in Northern Michigan with it. Northern Michigan = unbelievable roads and NO people! The area we went to is all forested sand dunes so the roads wind in, around and over 100 - 400 ft. tall forested dunes! Pick a road, any road, they are all fantastic up there!
