Corey,
Thanks for the compliment. I was the only Speedster. I think the theme was Oldies but goodies. Lots of '50's & 60's American cars. Chevies, a bunch of Corvairs and vettes, Mercury, Fords,Pick-up's some Roadsters and some old 30's American Cars. Looked to me like this crowd either kept the cars they had in Hi-School or built the one they wanted in Hi-School.
Not a lot of Air cooled or VW's. There were 2 beetles and a karman ghia, and a MG Kit car based on a VW.
Jim, I had lots of general interest. What is it? Oh! I see! the motor is in the back. What if someone rear-end you?
Mostly everyone thought it was cool, but not too many were familiar with Porsche or Foreign cars.
Next time: Blue Dots, Fuzzy Dice, Club plaque, Frankie Avalon and Bobby Rydell music coming from the Drive in replica speakers.
It was an eye opener, to see the Overkill Hardware structures some of these hot rods incorporated to change front suspension, mount a different motor, or cooler or radiator.
Most of the cars were pretty nice and pride and joys of the owners.
There were a few Pro-built Street racers that were Hi-Dollar rides: Chevelles, a Javalin, and a beautiful, perfect, black tuck and roll, red paint '57 Chevy.
Overall it was a worthwile outing. I really enjoyed seeing the cars I grew up with in the '60's
Greg
