2009 "Speedsters Meet Spyders at Carlisle" Schedule

Let's try and keep the "wet" away and concentrate on the "happy". It sounds like a great lineup this year.

IMPORTANT! We are registering as the "Speedster/Spyder Group" Please make this known when registering!!

For folks flying in sans cars, you may order event pass tickets either on-line at the link above, or simply buy event tickets when you arrive at either Gate 2 or Gate 3. If you're riding with someone on Friday we'll all be registering mid-afternoon and you can buy event passes then.

Wednesday, May 13'th:

Long distance folks start their long treks to Carlisle

Thursday:

Early arrivals all day,

5:30pm: evening cruise to the Caddy Shack Restaurant at the Armitage Country Club. (this is ALWAYS a great ride)

Friday:

9am Cruise to the AACA Antique Auto Museum at Hershey.

Lunch at the "Jigger Shop" in Mt. Gretna (just outside of Hershey)

Return to Carlisle between 2pm and 3pm and mass registration at Gate 3 (pre-arranged with Carlisle Registration folks), then hang out at the show or return to hotel

6pm: Ride to All Star Cafe for dinner (don't know whether this will be a cruise or "just get there")

Saturday:

Show Field All Day

9am Departure from Hotel Carlisle

9:45am Egg Sammich Reunion at the Carlisle High School Marching Band food booth (Stadium Pavilion, back side)

Check the Carlisle event calendar for events during the day

4pm-ish: Return to Hotel

5:30pm: Cruise to the Sunnyside Restaurant for 6:30pm dinner reservations

Yup! You and Steve, Vince and his long-suffering wife, and Jimbo's return visit are gonna make this year particularly good.

Already registered as Speedster (sans Spyder) Group. I hope that will be OK. I think that's the way we did it last year. It will be good to see the left coasters again, all of whom, except Jim, I have not seen since April of 2005. Looking forward....wooo hooo!

If you haven't yet registered, please do so and tell them that your group is the "Speedster Owners Group". The same group name works for the Hotel Carlisle, too.

I know that'll prob'ly tick off you Spyder owners, but Lane will buy you an extra beer (or a shot of Oban) to make up for the aggravation. Sorry.....you'll have to make your own arrangements for compensatory Egg Sammiches.....

If you've already registered as something else, don't sweat it.....I'll catch it and consolidate it with the Carlisle Event Registration staff, as I always do each year. Last year I caught three other designations and consolidated them into the main one.....

Now I can't remember if I said "Speedster group" or "Speedster owner's group". Either way, they seemed to know which group it was 'cuz they quoted me the right prices. As for buying everybody a beer... You'll have to talk awfully nice to me. I'm just not that easy.

Two batches of beer are resting/aging at 56 degrees in the basement.

Hopefully they will taste as good as they smell now without carbonation.

I'll second that. I love brew pubs.

Unfortunately, they're not in the greatest part of town. Really nice place though. Appalachian has a satellite pub about fifteen min. or so from the hotel.

All we have to do is make one of the Westcoasters stand watch(preferably while wearing a funny hat) while we eat. Would you mess with a bunch of cars that were being watched by a crazed man with a gun? Somebody here does have a gun, don't they?
