Egg sammiches are a call'n ~

....and now back to the Carlisle information:

In yesterday's paper here there was a story about Carlisle Productions, they just purchased a 48 acre manufacturing plant down the street from the show grounds.
The main building has 900,000 sq ft.and additional multi buildings and a huge fenced in lighted parking area. You Carlisle regulars know that Carlisle Productions have wanted to capture the private parking business that has been hosted by homeowners in the area. Guess CP has that now in the bag. ~Alan
OK so it is 2731 miles one way from Sacramento to Carlisle using Mapquest. Roughly 40 hours of seat time each way. I think it would be the ultimate road trip. Anyone on the left coast want to fly to Sacramento and comit to this kind of insanity? You would have to share driving and expences.

We would be driving in style using the IM-6

Yes I'm nuts!

Dave,
I have a great idea! Fly back home after your trip to Carlisle. When Bobbi and I come out in September,I'd be more than happy to return your IM-6 back to you! You'll have to share driving time with Rick until we get there, but I don't think you will mind,as long as you have a car to drive on occasion. I'd even be willing to sweeten the pot by shipping my 1997 Mazda B-2000 pickup truck out to you as an enticement! 5 glorious syncromeshed gears to slam!! What do you have to say to that offer? Pretty dog-on tempting,is'nt it?
I've met both of youse guys -- and Dave, I think you're gonna need an IM-8 to get you both over those mountains!
Man, but that sounds like a good time! I'll throw down on coming out west a bit to meet you guys and accompany y'all back toward Carlisle!
Hell, you'll probably be able to pick up the Grzynowiczes, Stan and the Tremont Trio, maybe the Hines family ... You'll be the Pied Pipers of Carlisle!
OK: The bad news and the why not news............
The DuPont company has cut its motorsports budget by 70%, and we were promptly thrown out with the bath water. Twenty years of shooting NASCAR all over the country.......done

The why not news.........I now can attend Carlisle. I can join the Hoss/Anderson caravan from the SE. I'll get the resrvations in soon.
Dave Mitchell...Your Carlisle trip almost coincides with our plan. We planning on getting the Speedster to the West Coast around the end of April now. You're likely taking a more direct route East whereas we're scheduled to hit Vegas, much of the West end of Route 66, see a buddy in Toas, NM then East by Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Memphis then Nashville over to I 81 and up to Carlisle. You shouldn't have much trouble filling the right seat.
