Wow! Haven't been on here in a looooong time!
Bad news is: June is never a good month to plan things for us, its the end of the school year, our Anniversary is on June 6th and the Arthritis Walk is always held the first weekend in June! Unfortunately this cannot be changed! So bummed, but Darrin and I would be be-headed by my daughter if we were not there to support her in the arthritis walk, her dream is to become a staff member with the Arthritis foundation!
Sorry my friends, I am SURE it will be a fabulous trip!

Had lunch with Eddie last week and we talked about the upcoming drive event. We both agreed that a fast "spirited" drive may not be the best thing to do on a Saturday around here. There are too many other folks, bicyclists, etc., using the roads at the same time. We certainly don't want to get anyone hurt or hurt anyone. We will still do a drive but let's call it a "Back Roads Tour" drive and the pace will be good but not crazy, just fast enough to be fun. How does that sound to everyone?
Also, if there is enough interest, I will plan a Sunday morning drive that will be along the same lines. Just a fun drive for about an hour or so. I know most folks will have driven a long way and will want to hit the road fairly early, so let me know.
Talk to me people, talk to me. June is not far away. Jennifer, we will miss you and Darin. Wish you could find a way, but certainly understand.

Hi Warren
Works for us. No matter what, it'll be good.

What you've planned for both days sounds good.
Sounds like a plan - safety first! Our initial plan of a drive to Ragged Point would be too far of a drive for that afternoon, so a combined cruise sounds good. Quicker-paced drivers up front and Cruisers and Sight-see'ers towards the rear of the Saturday afternoon cruise-caravan.

Gerd- sure wish I didn't have to sell my car! Acutally, I was planning to drive my Dad's car for the SOC meet (he wasn't planning on attending this year), bummer it is on the weekend we can't make it.
We will miss everyone and will look forward to lots of pictures.

My thoughts about the gift Raffle at the Saturday night Banquet is as follows.....
some of you fine people bring a raffle item. Lets say something you wouldn't mind winning if your number was called....don't get to cheap on me here...It can be car related or not...
All the items will be placed on a table and if/when your number is called, you come get an item...
Dave Johnson has kindly donated a Coke Picnic Cooler, as stated earlier in this thread, I will also donate something of Value, and maybe we can raffle some spacifically for certain items...(you understand)
All the money collected for raffle tickets will end up being a raffle item at the end, and depending on how much that is, we can decide whether we want to split it into two sums so another chance can be had...this is a pretty standard way that car shows do their 50/50 raffles...except usually the sponsors are the ones donating..
If this sounds like something you would all like to try, say so in this thread....

Soooooooooooooooooooo, my Dad has decided he will be attending after all. I am feeling pretty jealous at the moment! Anyway,he will be bringing my Uncle Bill (his brother) as his right seater, I expect you all to show him a fun time, he he. They will be meeting at the normal spot I assume to ride up with the gang. I will be checking in here for my dad, as he does not do anything internet wise except pay bills and reply to an occasional email. If you need to get in touch with him for any reason his email is :
papaehrlichATAol.com or better yet email me, you know my email.
BOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! sad for me, but I know they will have a great time with my gang!
They better not win the coca cola cooler, or im going to be mad :)

Soooooooo Jennifer, what kind of wheels are they going to bring?
Vince,
Any raffle format is good with me. Realistically, some will always be less than generous. Who cares. Lets rock and roll with whatever you boys and girls think is reasonable. If last year was any indication it should be good. Looking forward to seeing you folks.

Hey Vince,
I talked to Russ and you can count on Fibersteel for an item or two for the a raffle. I was thinking solid plexi side windows or a set like what's on Billy's car (ooppss, I mean Derek's car)

And on Troy's and Bob Eiland's cars.

Hey Guys, What about a running total of who's going? Just around the corner and we are working feverously to get our shop Speedster up there. Just got it back from paint and now we doing some upgrades (I say some, but really...) and then off to interior.
Hey Jen. for lunch, Bob and I are having the turkey sandwiches. I previously stated 1 roast beef but it has pepper jack{yuck phooey} and green salad. For dinner, 1 chicken, 1 tri tip. Thank you, Bob's wife Jessica, #1...
As stated previously, this years raffle prizes will be donated by anyone who wishes to do so, and the format will be that you purchase tickets and a drawing will be held at the Saturday night dinner.
The money collected will also be raffled off after all the prizes are gone....We would like to have prizes that will prompt you to buy tickets, but I don't think more than a dozen or so is necessary since the complaint in the past is that it takes to long....
If you wish to donate something that you think someone would like to win, post it here and I will start a list...
