Just an update:

 

I called the hotel this past week and found out we only have 12 rooms booked so far.  The block was for 16 and beyond that the hotel is selling out fast. 

 

So, the moral of the story is......  Hurry and get your room asap if you plan on joining us for the weekend.  For those who are, you probably won't be able to get a room for Sunday, but if you absolutely want one, let me know and I might be able to pull some strings.

WHERE - Topanga Ranch Motel, on PCH just north of Topanga Cyn junction (8 miles north of 10 Fwy/Santa Monica)

TIME - 10:00am, leaving this location at 10:30. Continue north on PCH along Malibu coastline (45 miles) to Los Posas exit (Oxnard). Turn right (north) onto Los Posas continue 8 miles and cross over 101 Hwy. Turn LEFT onto Daily Dr to back lot of MacDonalds.

 

Caravan from Camarillo to SLO on Friday 06/06/14:

Leaving above location approximately 12:30 continue to SLO. Approximately 140 miles / 2.5 hours drive. Arrive hotel in SLO approximate 3:30-4:00PM.

Room is booked !!!!! Can't wait..... I did over hear someone in the back ground placing an order for a new sign for the renaming on the hotel. I heard them saying some like we won't need the sign until 10th. The new sign is going to say "low quality suites" (we had some not so savory guest) ........ Now just to get the wife on board and someone to take care of my two awesome boys......

Booked us-2 for Fri and Sat nights ............ the speedy may not be out of the shop by then but what the hey. Really looking forward to meeting the crew ! Musbjim and others thanks for organizing this.

I just made contact with the hotel and confirmed that they are now sold out for Friday night with some rooms available for Saturday.

 

If anyone is still looking for a room, please let me know and I can suggest some nearby hotels that are as nice.  In fact, the keg rolling pic is the back of a nearby hotel and would do just as well in a pinch!!

Anyone remember the 80's band Berlin?  You know the one... "Take my breath away" from Top Gun!

 

On Friday night, June 6th, they are playing at a local winery about 30 minutes north of SLO.  The tickets are $35/pp and all proceeds go to charity.  The winery offers wine by the glass or bottle and a local brewery (Firestone last year) poured their craft beers.  They also brought in some amazing food trucks!

I went last year and had a great time!  Terri Nunn is as beautiful as ever and the venue is small enough that you are literally just a few feet from the stage.

 

If anyone is interested, let me know so I can start making arrangements to purchase tix for anyone who wants to go.  I might even be able to work out a shuttle to get everyone there safely so we can drink without worrying.  Plus, I can get extra chairs there so we would all have a place to sit.

 

It is a 21 and over event so I have Vince watching any kids that may be coming!

Not to give everyone too much food for thought, but sometime in the next week or two I will have to get a head count for meals on Saturday.   Both lunch and dinner.

Just made a round trip yesterday to Slo to drop off a Ghia Vert for a customer yesterday. Huge check point my wife and I could not figure out what all the traffic back was about. Then my wife and I were taken out of the truck at gun point and put into the position. They did not frisk my wife, but boy did they have their hands on me. Then one skinny older guy kept whispering in my ear something about ..........

 

It turns out they thought the Ghia vert was sometype of old Porsche, and that I was some guy named Vince. They heard he was coming up that way in a truck with some Porsches...

 

Actually if the drive is anything like yesterday we will have a great time.....
