We need to start a thread titled  "You've been to Carlisle if you remember .............."

This will be my 7th year. Where the heck did the time go?

In 2010 (my first year) we had four TDs--me, Schu, Paul and Richard Wobby, who I think was there for the first time as well.

Update !                                                                                                                                           On Friday the 20th at 5:00 PM, Courtyard will provide a cocktail hour i.e .......one free drink and appetizer to all in our group.                                                                                                          With this years show being a large one, the hotels in and around the entire Carlisle area will surely sell out.    ....Please, be sure to make your hotel reservations early !

I just made my hotel reservationsand e-mailed the form to Bruce. At this stage I am planning to bring my wife along and actually arrive on Wednesday. The plan for now is to make a stop at Fallingwater on Friday the 13th, then head to the DC area for a few days of siteseeing (it's been awhile since I was in the area and my wife has never been).

I'm looking for any advice any of you locals might have. I'm trying to find a reasonably priced hotel (on the perimeter) and do the metro thing into the city.

Anyone else planning on arriving at the Marriott on Wednesday like you did last year?

Rich, Here is something to contemplate.  The weekend before Carlisle, when as I read it here you wish to be hanging around the DC area, I'd be delighted to offer you accommodations at my house.  I have a couple of extra bedrooms.  My location is Highland MD, zip 20777, you can look it up.  Not real close to downtown DC, but there is the Metro about 20 mins away.  When I go downtown on the train, I skip rush hour, and it takes about an hour I guess, maybe a little less.  House is about midway between Baltimore and DC. Only complication is that I will be away in Pittsburgh likely from Thurs to Monday, as plans are currently.  Not a problem for me, and I'm sure we can work the details if this sounds plausible to you.  As I'll be out for a couple of days, there will even be room in the garage for your Speedy.

Booked the hotel today and purchased my pass for the field.  Guess I just need to fill out the registration form and drop a check in the mail to Norma and Bruce.  Looking forward to seeing you all in May.

Thinking about attending with my son.  No speedster, but with my 1999 Bimmer 328i vert.  Miss being there the last few years....

Thanks Alan.  Will be great to see many old friends.  

Just signed up.  My son Sean is coming too with BMW (it's his car, but I own it) .  Trust me Alan, the bug NEVER leaves me.  But now maybe the budget is within realistic sight again too.

Hello Bruce. Thanks for your note. I'll send out the rsvp email to you. I'm actually a newbie on the market for a speedster. I will not be driving one to the event this year, hopefully next yeR yes! Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more about these timeless cars.

Carlisle 2016 Hotel Reservations........... Today is the last day to reserve a room under our Speedster Owners room block. Tomorrow, Courtyard releases any remaining rooms in our block to the public. With this years Carlisle show being the largest show format yet, expect all Carlisle area hotel rooms to be sold out.
