I know, I know...maybe a little early to start planning, but time got away from us last year. Just want to get the ball rolling on this one before we find ourselves without Troy and Ted next year. Scott, are you lurking out there? Can we do this the first weekend of June? I'm willing to help out anyway I can to get this shindig going.

If I'm still alive I'm pretty sure I'll go. And yes I am now in talks about seeking help for my commitment phobia.

Thanks Terry!
June sounds great too... Lets get this rolling so I don't screw up my hip again and miss this awesome event... SoCal in the HOUSE!
Speedster "D" Ready...
May 20th or 27th would be a choice also. The first Saturday in June is a huge fundraiser for Crime Stoppers and Nancy and I usually get a table for this event. Last year the SOC was on a different weekend so we did both. I know if we start planning early we might be able to get one of those weekends. It wouldn't be as hot. We've had it at the same hotel several years now so they should be happy to have us, but then again GERD has a certain effect on people.
May 27 is Memorial day weekend. There might be restrictions on the hotel that weekend. Andie and I have a trip up north planned for the later half of May but the dates aren't set yet. Maybe the second weekend in June?
You don't have to plan around me. I know you all prefer my brother, Kevin. I'll have him check his availability...
I'm touched. Baseball with my son is unpredictable. We will find a way to be there this year. We can't so the 3 day weekend. I know we will have a tournament.
We need T-shirt this year. We need a designer. Let's think... who can be our designer?
TRP
Rich Drewek does a nice job, as does Cory Drake, although neither are likely to be participants.
We have OCC Chris who could probably handle it...

It would be really nice if you'd lend him your car...
I love my brother, AL, but not that much.

Rusty, I had no knowledge of your artistic abilities. I think you, 2 dozen shirts, a sharpie and we're golden!

I know how you feel, Terry! I have one like that too. And re the new t shirt design- I think you guys are on to something...

Terry
Currently Speedy is running well in storage for the winter. I will be breaking her out in mid April so she should be ready for the run this year. Finally seem to have sorted out the electrical and carb issues. Count me in.
I'm good for whatever weekend suits the majority!

Sooooooo tempting....
I'm marking it down, whichever the day! Ten sweet hours from PHX to SLO... Hopefully, it'll be a caravan with @PaulEllis and Doug Kingston!
I'm definitely in. Just let me know when. Cory we can cross the desert at night and go up the 101 PCH.
Any time, any where
Stan, Cory, Paul, Doug and Roy, it would be so cool to meet you guys, hope you come!

Cory - I hope the SOC AZ contingent could rendezvous with the SoCal group in Malibu on Friday of the SLO weekend. Its been a 12 year tradition to caravan to SLO with 10 -20 cars! Quite a sight on Pacific Coast Highway and Hwy 1.

Love this plan, @MusbJim!
What time do you all meet up? Stan, Paul, Doug, Roy, and I will have just crossed the harshest desert in North America overnight, so we'll be glad to see the Pacific, and a diner next TO it.
Whatever weekend is decided on, rendezvous will be the Friday of that weekend.
10:00AM round-up, cruise up the Malibu coast on Pacific Coast Hwy to Hw 101 (lunch stop) then up Hwy 1 through Santa Barbara onto San Luis Obispo (more details as time draws near). Doug Kingston knows the drill.

We could go Hells Angels on t-shirts and do a logo like this on the back and a small one on the front pocket. I'm pretty sure only the name and flying death head are trademarked and since we are a CC and not an MC we shouldn't be stepping on any gang related toes...

Hey I'm coming up with some pretty cool t-shirt ideas here IMO. Anyone else? We'll have to get moving on this soon if we are going to do it.
Love the design options, Rusty! (I'm leaning toward #2)
I'm also a fan of the small logo on the breast and the larger version on the back.
Also willing to pay a few dollars more for a quality T that will be comfortable to wear, and wear plenty, 'til it's a shop rag!

I've driven across that desert (SLO to Las Vegas) in my speedster (top down) with my wife in the right seat. She was chipper when we left SLO, but by the time we were winding through Bakersfield, it got pretty quiet over there. I tried to point out the airliner graveyard in the Mojave Desert, but she was having none of it. I was pretty sure was going to beat me to death with a tire iron before we rolled into sin-city at about 7:00 PM. It was still over 100* when I got in.
We still joke about it sometimes when we're trying to pick a fight.
It was a dry heat, though....
It should include "SLO 2017" somewhere in the design, whether on the breast as a stand alone or on the back with the larger design.
The speedster pictured should also have a 5-speed...

HA's have been known to go after other motorcycle clubs just for imitating the three rocker design as you have drawn above. I'd avoid using it because an ounce or prevention is better than a pound of cure.

I can't think of a cooler way to die than to be beaten to death by a Hell's Angel.
I vote to keep it.

Oh, Stan...
I can't even think about that drive. I'm going to close the curtain of charity over it in my mind.

What Robert said; there's no reason to knowingly invite trouble, and that design will attract them. There were issues locally a number of years ago with a Christian motorcycle club for that very reason. No amount of discussion could dissuade them. It didn't matter who they were; it looked too much like the HA logo and there was trouble brewing if it wasn't changed.
And Cory- we can have a one-off made for you if you'd really like; can I have your car when they're finished with you? 'Cause when they're done, you won't be needin' it...
