I AM PACKED AND READY TO GO. HEADING TO THE BEACH HOUSE TODAY AFTER WORK. CARROL AND I WILL MEET YOU GUYS AT THE MACDONALDS IN CAMARILLO. AND THEN ITS OFF TO ARIZONA FOR THE NEW JOB
Dee and I are almost ready to head south to SLO...not sure of the route yet but likely it will be top up with the A/C blowing. Looking forward to the Farmers Market and Street fair.
I was going through all of my old YouTube videos and found this one from 11 years years ago at our 2008 Morro Bay get together. This was in the days before we had HD video so the quality isn't the greatest, but man there were a lot of cars there!
There is also video from a few other years including one year from Carlisle. Here's the link to my YouTube channel.
How many are we expecting this weekend?
I just made the lunch reservation for 12 "Whackadooz" at Monterey's Lalla Grill (Del Monte Shopping Center) @ 12 Noon - Just look for the funny looking Volkswagens parked nearby.
See y'all there and then!

I received 33 notifications of attendance. 70 lunches and 70 dinners have been sold.
If you subtract Team Murtaugh, there will be 32 cars and only 40 people attending. I had to get a waiver from the County of SLO so they could all be in one hotel room.
Wow, thanks

I was kidding Paul. There will be 33 cars and about 70 people in attendance. We like to rib on Murtaugh a bit. He does however rent 4 rooms and he brings 10 people with him. You could say he travels with his own entourage.

And let’s make sure we add that his family is awesome and they are GREAT people... and be apart of the maddening crew
Looking forward to seeINV all you knuckle heads!
@LONGFELLA is this the biggest headcount of knuckleheas from past gatherings?
Weatherman Cory arrived in Morrow Bay late last night and this morning said to bring warm clothes because it was in the 50s. Its 103 here in Phoenix today.
Yap it said inland is hot. Santa Cruz is mid 70 and coast drive from Santa Cruz to Monterey is 56 hopefully no for or clouds.

Numbers sound about the same as last year. This is only my third year, so I don’t know how it was back in the day.
Have an absolutely WONDERFUL time, everyone!
Sounds like it’ll be a rockin’ weekend!

Hey Gordon, have you ever thought of coming to the West Coast?
@OCC, you have hats? I want a hat.

Oh my gosh, boys, are you in for a TREAT!
This is my first time at the West Coast Cruise, and I’m already in love with this event!
I was able to get out here a day early, and spent about nine hours today blasting all over God’s beautiful Central-Coast-Creation with Will Hesch, who drives Whitecloud, and a friend of his who drives a real ‘58 Speedster.
Just wait until you’re driving your favorite car in the world down perhaps the most famous highway in the world – California Highway 1, the PCH! If you’ve never done it, you’re going to have to pinch yourself — it’s just that gorgeous! And the incredible journey through low valleys and across rippling creeks aiway from the beach is just as lovely…
Thanks, @WILL, for being such a terrific tour guide today!
@PaulEllis — can’t wait to see you out here, buddy!
See you all tomorrow evening!

Wow, we will be pulling out shortly. Great pictures Cory, I'm so excited to get there.
If you’d like to study the WCC route in advance, see below. The details of each stage are included in your route books and will be discussed further at the route meeting at Veterans Memorial Hall on Saturday morning, 9am sharp.

Have fun out there. We did the highway all the way down from Mcminville Oregon, all the way down the mountain like 25 miles of corners then PCH to Santa Cruz and I really could not drive quickly on the PCH at all. I couldn't catch my breath as it was just so awesome and breathtaking the ocean draws you in like a siren call to look at it.
Even my son kept saying the same thing and he is not really vocal on the environment or scenery much at all usually.

If we shared every detail here, some may skip the mandatory route meeting. See you there!
@@Ryan in NorCal Are you in Monterey now?
I’m in Carmel. Taking Old Coast Road to Nepenthe this morning, then back up north to meet the NorCal group at Bixby Bridge at 1:30pm.
If anyone else is up for an ambitious morning, join Cory and I at Bixby by 9:30am. Prepare to get dusty.

Couldn't get there in time, but will see you all in SLO.
For the SoCal drivers, look out for the ALC bike riders on the roads near the coast between Ventura and LA... several hundred cyclists riding from SF to LA this week to benefit AIDS research and a cure.
For NorCal drivers, I'll try to find you around Ragged Point/Cambria today on and ride alongside. SMILE for the camera on my helmet! I'll share all the great shots with everyone after!

So let's see. The West coast group sent 3 members to Carlisle the year. We can't wait to welcome all the East coast members that will be attending the weekend.
I wish!
So do I, Jack. So do I.
