I think a thing is worth what a buyer and seller agree it's worth.
That said -- I'd much rather be the seller than the buyer. I stopped pretending to understand the world a couple of years ago.
No. Just... no. As you might expect, I hove nothing against replicas, but at least get the freakin' proportions right.
I'm still crying. In 1964 I was an USAF SSGT and received orders transferring me to an airbase in England. As a SSGT I was eligible to ship my car overseas at Government expense. I had a 57 Chevy Wagon which I figured was too big for England's roads so I started looking for a smaller car. At a nearby used car lot there were 3 cars that would have suited. One was a 1955 Mercedes 300SL for $3500.00, another was a1950 something Ferrari for $5500.00. I settled for a 1962 Triumph TR-4 for $1500.00. When I went to a local Loan Office, I borrowed enough money to cover the TR-4, I mentioned the Merc and Ferrari and the Loan Officer remarked "We can loan you enough for either one of those cars". Sounded tempting but the payments would have been more than 1/2 of my monthly pay which included housing allowance and separate rations.

Yeah, I saw that. Of course I'll need a tow vehicle and trailer unless I can make it street legal. Here in SC I probably could get away with adding some lights.
Wonder if I'd fit...
