You could always put a light underneath the engine for an hour before starting it

What do you think of the wider gear spacing with the .82 4th? Think of me for a moment while enjoying the road. Oh; I remember reading somewhere here that in cold weather someone uses a heat pack to keep the midsection warm when out in their car? I'm going to have to remember that one for our mountain dune buggy trips... Al

Lined pants, gloves and a jacket.  Ready to roll.

Garage is 60 so good there.  It will be leaving the office when I will have to warm it up.  Only getting to 42 today they are saying.

I like the extra tall 4th as I drive the car on the highway a lot.  Not freeway, highway.  Drive to Mammoth and to Winnemucca.  Have yet to head over to Napa.  Too many memories there. Many trips to Tahoe and Truckee.  Engine has plenty of power to pull the the passes in 4th.

Stephen, I'm glad you're happy with your setup.  I had the same setup, combined with a 2210 engine, and hated it.  4th gear power was fine, but the gap between 3rd and 4th was a real pain.  At 45/50 mph I found the revs too high for 3rd and too low for 4th.  Unfortunately, around where I live I drive a lot at those speeds (rural roads).

Ron,

I can see the 45-55 problem.  I just stay out of that range.  45 is not too bad if needed.  Off the top of my head I think I am at about 3500 RPM in 3rd.  Around here it is 45mph or 55 mph and in 4th 55 is 2500 RPM.  I am a 5mph over the posted limit person, unless a 45 zone for the Speedster.  In all, I like the setup.  Mainly for the highway, 75mph is in the sweet spot of 3300 RPM.

Stephen
