23rd Annual VW Classic "2007"

One of the best Aircooled car shows today(6-10-07) this is where I got lucky with TUFFTUB. Great day to get the SOC together, maybe do a short run up the coast after treasure hunting. Cabanaboy ~ Cruisin So. Cal. Style.

I always enjoy this show - Count me in.

got it back today from the detail shop, will take some pic's this weekend....
You can see it on the 10th of June, that will be it's inaugural run as MR Ghia....

Always great to go on a surf trip, but boy am I happy to be home.

I'm in as well. Not sure yet what time I will make it out there since I'll be picking up my son that morning. What time is the group cruising PCH? Any chance we can make it an afternoon cruise instead of sunset? Keep in mind, sunset at this time of the year is somewhere around 8pm...

I'd love to make this BUT I am gonna be at my mother-in-laws for her birthday party.. Maybe she'd like a free trip to Irvine for her birthday gift? Never to late to ask... LOL...

Just got home from the show. Desi, the tufftub looked great as usual. We didn't get to see Becky. I think maybe she was sleeping in the Westy when we walked by :)

Hey Colin thanks for the post, Bruce it's alway a good time when meeting a speedster owner, I hope you and your wife join us in the very near future for some runs and happenings.

Me and my son, Colin, went and checked out the VW Classic. Very Cool! It's nuts what Buses/Transporters are going for these days!

Saw Desi and also Irwin at the show. Lot's of interesting set-ups.

Vince, we looked for ya but figured you probably had not pulled onto the lot yet. We saw what we wanted and left by 08:00. Hope you had fun showing off your Low-light! Here's a couple of pics of a Karman Ghia with some subtle modifications!

I was there at 9:30...there was a 59 lowlight convert that looked like it was just made, absolutely gorgeous, would have hated to park next to it, but didn't have to worry since the only parking left was the back 2 rows....Saw Desi and the guy from Hawaii who was visiting,

I'm a little suprised that more SOC guys didn't attend, this is the biggest VW show on the west coast as far as I know, oh I almost forgot this is a speedster site...
Mr Ghia was still a hit even if there were better looking cars there.....Mine will always be a driver....Teri named him "Rags"
so from now on I will refer to him as such....

Vince, that is a great looking ghia you have!! I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say it on this particular site, but that definitely isn't a step down. She's a sweet ride!

thank you Colin, both me and my wife are going through "speedster withdrawl"... My speedster was far and away the most fun car I ever had, and I've had a few, but I never felt like the speedster was a "collector" car and I needed to fill that hole. The Ghia fills that hole.....and then some...what I need is both....and I'm working on that....

Vince your Ghia is AWESOME! I was happy to meet you and your wife.

There were a couple of Speedsters but no owners around for me to say Aloha. Congratulations on all the Speedsters and VW's entered in the show.

There was a blk Speedster that really caught my eyes it was lowered with some 17 inch low pro tires and Randar rims the stance of the Speedster was awesome! Does anyone know the owner of the car??? I placed pictures of the Speedster below.

That's got to be a Cali car. Nobody on the Right Coast would tint the windshield. Honestly, who does that?

that black speedie is from Vegas I believe. He was at the host hotel and a buddy gave me the quick lowdown on the car. The owner bought it for maybe $5000 without motor in as-is condition. Added new wheels motor and done, for the most part. The body lines where in good shape, but the glass was a little worse for wear with normal cracks here and there but I have seen worse. The windshield is plexiglass, so maybe it was a piece lying around or was in the car as scratches were obvious. Looked like a fun driver you could park anywhere.

Cory, funny you should say that! Check it out - in the last picture, Desi's silver outlaw (which is right next to this black one) is tinted too. And he's the one that tinted mine! HA HA HA....

Cory... did you have that SUPER TIGHT Banana hammock on when you wrote that post ?? almost sounded like West Coast envy??
