Stan, thanks for the information. Here are a couple of photos regarding what I did with my dry sump. I put 2 coolers up front, like on a Carrera...I made the fiberglass tank by using a "lost foam" approach...namely made a foam buck, fit it in the passenger side fender well, applied 3 fiberglass layers to the foam, and then slowly poured in a gallon of acetone and let it consume the foam. By the way, some foams do not dissolve in acetone, don't ask me how I know that. Best to test a piece before you fiberglass...I did, fortunately. I put the thermostat valve up under the sill....
I use an Autocrafters dual stage pump...and apologies for the thread hijack!

An aberration, I think? Just filled up my tank again, only took 2 gallons, I double checked, took a close peek at the tank level...58.44mpg!?!? My odometer seems to be working properly along with the speedo. Something just doesn't seem right, but if it's true, holy crapola, that 93 octane is worth it! 188.7km times .62 equals 116.994 miles divided by 2.0 gallons equals 58.497 gallons. Odd.
If that engine is getting 54 mpg it ha to be extremely lean. I think you did the math wrong on that, you should be getting a max of 1/2 of 54 mpg.
With the gearing you have with that engine I'd expect pretty horrible fuel economy..
Twin plugs have always given us much better fuel economy but my best is 51MPG from my super 2 liter with 138HP and 152 ft/lb torque and that was optimized for tall gearing and had tons of exotic components and processes.

Wow.
I'm sure there's a mistake with Rich's last fill-up, but.... wow, Jake.

Duh, I figured out my error! Of course I couldn't possibly get 54mpg's but at least you guys are watching my foolish posts. I forgot that I had to do another fill-up in between me siphoning off my 87 octane last week. Stay tuned for more clutz soon.
You getting 75 a gallon yet?
LOL. That was a good one, Colin.
Rich, going off topic a bit here.....I love the look of your exhaust. What type is it? I need to decide what will be going onto my 2054cc Beck. I prefer an exposed tailpipe rather than the sidewinder hidden side exit. Also, how is the sound? Thanks.
No, Colin, I'm not. As a matter of fact, as of late this afternoon the leash has been released (valve adjustment and oil change completed) and if I don't control myself, 20mpg will be lucky. Keeping it under 4,000 rpm's for the past few weeks was a character building exercise. Yes, I do have some power now!
Dave, my exhaust is a Tangerine system from Chris Foley. Unless you're going Type 4, you're out of luck. He only does Type 4 stuff. That's one of the benefits of this exhaust, it's tucked up high for plenty of clearance:

Here's a couple of recent videos of it on my new 2666cc:

PM if you need more info.
BTW, A-1 does make a center outlet, but all the pipes do hang lower.

You'll get used to it, Rich... and want some more.
Rich,
As prolific a video maker (videoista?) as you are you need something designed to mount easily and kill the wind noises. A GoPro setup is made for you: http://gopro.com/products/?gclid=CMG1l_PUqLACFWQKRQodlGb7Uw
(I WISH I had interest in the Gopro company, but don't)

As promised, here's 4 videos of the car in action. Ken, though the Go Pro is nice, my priority right now is to get the car running. Depending on where the camera is placed, audio can be good or bad. This audio isn't all that bad, especially if you put some headphones on. I ran all these through the anti-shake filter on You Tube.

Hey Rich! That engine sounds awesome and I'm digging on how fast the scenery is going by!
man - that has got to be one of the most bad-assed motors/ignition setups on this site.
sounds super healthy!
congrats on finally getting it going

I should have bought your old engine, Rich. Oops.
Rich--thise You Tube videos are sensational---I love the sound of your engine! It just sounds perfect. Glad this project turned out so well for you and that you're enjoying your car. As they say here in Dogpatch "You done good!"
Rich
I am having second thoughts now about joining the caravan down to Peoria as I don't think I will be able to keep up.............

Don't worry about me, Steve, it's the guest of honor in Peoria, Cory, who you have to worry about. Probably Stan too. I'll keep you in my rearview mirror.
I forgot how my second generation engines sounded and performed.. That was a long time ago-
Awesome Rich!!!
Congrats Rich!
Can't wait to see the car on the 21st.
I'll send you my cell # via PM so you have it as you get closer to Peoria.
