I have lots of pictures of build, along with a full binder of documention of components used. Copy of dyno too. These were built a number of years ago and have been sitting...the black one sold for 8k. nothing but the best was used....i have proof I paid over 11k/ea.

I am asking best offer.....

I am open to a trade (truck preferred)

Oscar
Oscar, that seems like a reasonable price for a well-documented, professionally put together Type IV, especially considering what some folks are asking.

Mine isn't nearly as pretty or as pedigreed, was built with 'bin parts' and still cost me body parts. Twice.

Mango -- I love you, Dude, so don't take this the wrong way ... but I hate you.
Spare engine? Did'ja have to just casually throw that out there?
These engines were built in 2000, they were the last engines that I produced for the TIV that used the 911 cooling system. The builds were started in 1999, I remember that day very well.

Oscar was the original buyer, he has had a really bumpy ride with his builder (who never did deliver after 11 years!) and is in a crappy situation.

To build that engine today, my price would be 18-20K, **IF** I decided to accept the build. The parts used to build these engines are no longer available at the quality thats inside this one. What Oscar is asking is a steal.

The engine will need the valve springs replaced, since the engine has sat static for 11 years with springs compressed.. If not they will break shortly after being fired up.. Also the "black" engine was sold 3-4 years ago and was shipped to me for refresh.. Both engines were used as door stops and the black one was super dirty inside, even though it had never been fired up.

If someone buys the engine from Oscar I will work it into my schedule for a refresh just to help him out.. My backlog is currently 13 months, but I can get it knocked out by spring if someone buys and ships to me soon.

Oscar, what happened to you was far from fair.. Maybe someday that vendor will screw the wrong guy and they'll put his ass out of business.. Or at least give him the bitch slap that he deserves.
When the engines were built they made 180HP each.. Our technology has come a long way since then, today 220HP is the minimum an engine of this displacement produces.

The differences are all camshaft/ cylinder head related, so this engine could produce the same very easily. Today all our engines larger than 2430cc utilize roller camshafts and lifters and Nickies cylinders.

Several people make them for the Type 1.. All we create is based on the Type 4 platform and I have developed my own (and manufacture) roller cam/ lifter arrangement for the Type 4.. I started developing this in 2004 and have finally started outfitting engines with it after several years of R&D for my 2012 program.

My Wife's car has utilized a 2270cc roller cam engine installed since 2007, I drove it 14,000 miles last year alone.. 30 MPG+, CHT less than 325 and 150 RWHP makes it a great daily driver. The power band is unreal, its like driving a big block V8.
I understand that the engine has been sold...

New Owner:
For the record I'd like to state that this engine MUST have the valve springs replaced prior to start up. Two of the valve springs in this engine have been compressed for over a decade and they are guaranteed to be "dead".

Expect the carburetors to be thoroughly filled with debris and dead fuel. Approach with extreme care.
