| Recently I was asked to make a number of kits for a Spyder 550 replica maker. I have a few left from that run. I am pleased to offer these kits to fellow Spyder and Speedster / 356 enthusiasts. These kits are powder coated, silver only, and have stainless steel hardware (bolts, nuts, spacers, and springs). Also, there are lightening holes in the release as well as the main handle (cosmetic). The robust frame is constructed of 1/8" mild steel as are the ratchet and latch assemblies. The various parts are braised together for a more finished look. The kits are complete with instructions, threaded rod to connect with the parking brake cables, and a clamp to connect the cables to the rod. We have a fair number of kits in stock and ready to ship. After several years of trying to get a replica 550 Spyder handbrake delivered from others we ended up engineering, developing and producing one for our use and have ultimately made many handbrake kits for 550 Spyder replica owners. Please note this is not intended to be an exact replica of an original Spyder brake, but rather a re-engineered piece that works well with most replica Spyders. You can contact me via email jdubois77354@comcast.net Additional details: The car owner will need to make up a mounting bracket to mount the brake handle (1.800" dia. tube welded to a 1/8" mild steel plate that is applied to the side of a cable shifter, or under the shifter on some cars, or bracketed to the floor on others). We do not provide a bracket as part of our kit. We arrived at this decision as a result of the multiple approaches used by car builders to mount parking brakes in cars. To give car owners a better idea of the work necessary to fit one of these kits we are more than happy to send out a set of instructions, prior to purchase, as well as other details you might need. We also do offer some custom fabrication work your car might require to use our kit. There is no "one bracket fits all". I am more than willing to assist any brake kit buyer in making a bracket...but the bracket is not part of the kit, nor is it part of the kit price.
