Hi, I need help in finding a replacement grill (cast aluminum) for the deck. The previous owner modified it and I want to replace it. The body is a CMC . The ones that I have seen are too big for the opening on my car. I need a 8" x 14" inside measurement grill. The ones that are for sale are 8 3/8" x 14 3/8" inside.

Trimming your grill opening couldn't be that difficult could it?
Well the fiberglass walls surrounding the grill aren't that thick. I thought if I could find an aluminum original it would be the way to go.
I need to take 3/8" off the side both ways and the fiberglass isn't that thick.
I have a cmc grill. Pm me and I will sell it to you dirt cheap
I have trimmed out a deck lid for the larger grill but removing the grill's lip edge weakens the deck lid surface quite a bit. I used some left over " Corvette Glue" aka Panel Bond $45 plus $52 for a PB specific gun ) and when that set up it did allow the grill to be the supporting structure for the top surface of the deck lid ( It was a lot of work) Take CURTISSB offer the cast grill is easy to R & I.
Thanks for the information Alan. I appreciate your input and have sent Curtissb a message. I could also try repair welding the existing aluminum grill, but that also is a lot of work.
I actually had an early IM owner tell me he preferred the grille in my CMC to his grille. It took me many hours to smooth and polish the crude CMC grille.
