There are three alternatives if no one has any in their stash on here:

  1. Call Vintage Speedsters at (714) 894-1550 and ask if they have them, or:
  2. Contact Beck Speedsters here: http://beckspeedster.com/contactusvisitus.html
  3. Go to a Jeep dealer and get a pair of HD Vinyl doorstraps for a Jeep CJ (don't forget to get the mounting bars for them, too)

As far as installing them, yes - Drill out the rivets and use sheet metal screws to re-attach them.

An alternative is rubber door bumpers.  I use a rubber bumper from Lowes and two sided molding tape strategically placed in the door jam to keep the door edge from making contact.  I put the two sided mounting tape on the wide part of the rubber bumper and stick to the body in the door jamb.  Door swings open and bounces off before making contact with the body.  No mess, out of the way.  2.15$ total cost.

Or goto Ace hardware and get some SS screws they have all sizes to attach the strap holders.

There are also leather door limit straps available.  If you Google " leather door check straps" you will find lots of options.  I drilled and tapped holes into the steel jamb inside the door opening of the car and installed an aluminum plate inside the door with tapped holes.  Then I used stainless steel countersunk screws to attach the footman loops for the leather straps.

Not a real good picture, but maybe you can get the idea.  Hope this helps.
