That's a great price if: you know who built it and if you can do your own compression test and it passes on all 4.

Engines like that are becoming rare birds, my builder says anything under $7K is a great price for a core, this one has everything needed to run.

My only red flag is the bottom of the case looks wanky, like it sat in water or mud for a while?

I think it's probably a great price (maybe even a bit of a steal) for what it is (complete original 356 Super 90, rebuilt), will be a great powerplant for an original same period car, and yes, Phil, it would make a GREAT conversation piece in your man room! As an engine for a replica Speedster, though, it's overpriced (and underpowered). If it is indeed a complete Super 90 engine it makes just that, all of 90 hp, which we all know isn't a lot in the VW world. And as cool as someone may think it is to actually have a "period correct" P engine in their Speedster, maybe 1 in 100 people looking at a replica Speedster would know the difference (or care). A mild 2 liter would be way more fun to drive (and cost less). As usual, the opinions expressed here are the author's and if you disagree with him he doesn't care because YOU'RE A POOPIEHEAD ANYWAY! Hah!

I miss Joufoo

Let me help.

You're a jeck. Your mom wears army boots. She's so fat that when she sits around the house, she literally sits "around the house". She dresses you funny.

You think you're a big man, all "keyboard warrior" like. Nobody can stand before the mighty Joufu. I'll kick your hind end and take your name so I can come back tomorrow and do it again.

We bad, that's right, uh huh.

Jeck.

How am I doing?
