In my search for a 356 coupe replica came across a vendor in Japan (im based here myself) who mentioned a company in the U.S. abo to provide him with a Pre A split window replica .. I want to research more about this company etc.. the vendor in Japan didnt want to share much information, wonder if anyone recognize this place? or have any information?

Pre A split window seems to be my dream car.. dont want this to turn into a nightmare so asking for help to find more about.

In the thread Brandon linked to, he reported: "Interestingly, he said they will be building these in conjunction with Vintage Speedsters which is why they will be able to turn them around quickly."

That partnership must have fallen through. I visited the new shop of Vintage Spyders in early May (nice facility and a pleasant owner). Greg mentioned the pre-A shown will be a one-off. The next one will not use a shortened, re-inforced VW pan. He plans to use a new, custom frame.

Vintage Speedsters happened to be the very next shop I visited that day, and I mentally noted their frame connection looked to be the same as employed on the pre-A at Vintage Spyders; now I know why.

It's too bad the relationship didn't work out. By the way, Kirk's operation at Vintage Speedsters is remarkable; they really crank them out.
